Sorry, I know these images are restricted to the NonAv forum... but I think this one is ok here

I feel sorry for the pilots that have to fly them.

Not really - I think that most of them will probably care more about being able to fly than necessarily doing so in a plane that looks good (by who's standards).
Gotta admit, though, the planes displayed here really are ugly...

The Shorts Skyvan is uglier than the 360. Although, the 360 might come in second! The disturbing thing is...airlines bought the 360's! What were they thinking? I was walking past a 360 on the tarmac in Le Ceiba, Honduras, talking to my brother about how we didn't want to get on one. There was a mechanic inside the plane working, then, as we were looking at it, a large metal part fell off the bottom of it! Luckily, we got an LET-410 for our next flight instead of that thing!

How in the hell can they get a plane aloft that huge? What a horrific but magnificent plane.

Quoting GARPD (Reply 2): Nah, just look at any Russian Aircraft ever made, civil or military
So a stupid post. Do you know anything about Russian aircrafts? There are so many different which look as different as western aircrafts do. Many of them look very good.

I agree. Many of them look utterly amazing! Some are gorgeous, some weird, some like a concorde but actually a bomber... Russian Aircarft certainly don't look like American or European aircraft but they aren't ugly.
Back on topic, the Aviation Traders Carvair isn't such a looker, nor is the A380 IMO although it's not the ugliest ever. I don't particularly like the look of the ERJ140/145 or C-17...
but strangely enough I do rather like the shorts 360

Quoting JoeCattoli (Reply 21): If this I not the strangest and ugliest aircraft. It is already a miracle if it flies... But it does...
That is one strange aircraft...ive never seen it before.
Is the nose used for communication/navigation insturments?

I actually admire the Shorts 330/360. I always wanted to fly on one of them ever since I was little and saw them in the BEX colours at BOS.
