A lot is being said about US airlines with their service going totally down and not being what it used to be. Personally I've flown 3 US carriers

Pan AM in 1990

AA in 92,93, 96

UA 94 95

Out of these its UA I prefer though I only flew twice on Pan Am so I can't really judge Pan AM. I definitely DID NOT like AA when I flew them in 1996 although the first time in 1992 it was ok for me.

I've heard good stuff bout Continental and would try them out from GVA if ever I were to return to New York.

What's your opinion. Which US carrier do you prefer for domestic and international routes

As I posted on a similar topic: UA. Love that Channel 9!

Others include: US (Star Alliance) and CO. I like WN - they know how to haul butt when it comes to turnaround!

Would like to fly B6, F9, AirTran, NW, Midwest, and ATA!

1. US
2. HP

Both carriers have been superb on every flight.

I've also flown many flight's on AA,CO,UA and the odd DL & NW flight, far prefer US & HP to the others.

From my ZRH perspective the ranking looks as follows:

1.) Continental: young 767 on transat-routes, good inflight service, IFE, decent legroom, efficient international gateway at EWR  bigthumbsup

2.) United: excellent legroom in economy plus, IFE

3.) American: most direct flights from ZRH, efficient international gateway at DFW, reduced legroom in Y  frown

4.) NW: DC 9, DC 10  Smile

9999.) Delta: clapped out transat 767, unfriendly service, inefficient international gateway at ATL  redflag

I like American Airliners simply because of the good leg room in economy class. I also had a very pleasant experience at New York La Guardia airport in 2004 where an American Airlines customer service agent gave me an emergency exit seat, without me even having to ask.

I also like SouthWest.

I flown only on Continental, AA, DL, Song and Southwest.

My votes goes to Continental and Song

Felipe

New York + Rio de Janeiro = One of the best combinations !
25 Pbiflyer : Delta - despite their current problems
26 RCS763AV : Delta- Such a classy airline. Song their LCC product, just fantastic.
28 747LUVR : A tough pick but 1-CO, 2-DL (actually Song) for my domestic. Int'l : VS
29 Evan767 : DL no doubt...........
30 Wnfan333 : Southwest........................
