Your Favourite Airline Lounge!

For all those blessed by having either high tier loyalty cards or being able to fly Business Class, what do you think is your favourite Airline Lounge? here are a few criteria one could inclue in an answer.

1. Where is it?
2. Which Airline does it belong to?
3. What refreshments did they provide?
4. What facilities did they provide?
5. What were the features that made you like it so much?

Personally my favouite lounges are the SAS/ Air Canada at LHR and the Air New Zealand lounge at SYD.

The Air New Zealand lounge was just so big and spacious and had a fantastic view over part of the runway and larger aircraft. Although the food they provided was cold it was like being at the Ritz for Tea! ANZ provided an extensive range of cold buffet treats, such as duck and hoisin, steak wraps, cold veggies, dips, crisps and other light bites that suffice for a few hours. I do appreciate hot food in lounges but why offer it at the lounge when in Business and First Class we get fed 4/5 course meals that make us so full!

I suppose it really is for Business Travellers who either need to work or sleep on the plane!

Regards

Paul.

Dubai, Emirates business class lounge. Reasonable view, comfy chairs, hot food (buffet style). Sleeper rooms available for a fee. The first class lounge is supposed to be superb.

The MH business class lounge at KUL was nice too. Again, reasonable view, comfy chairs, nice and airy. Cold snacks (mini bitesize portions) and free cold drinks, including beer.

Well I think the (open to all) lounge at Manchester Terminal 2 is great. It is not an airline one as such but you pay gbp15/16 and the choice of food and drinks is the best!!

Done a few I really like, although am eager to try some others! Am rather partial to the BA First lounges because of the leather and darkwood decor.

Today for example was in the BA First lounge at LGW:

-A selection of hot food brought to the table. I went for bacon roll with brown sauce. As for drinks a selection of champagnes, this time it was Bellefon Rose (not bad!) and Charles Heidsieck Mis En Cave (not so good). Johnnie Walker Blue Label is usually on offer but I wasn't too interested at 8am!

BA Concorde Room (now for BA First passengers):

-Used to be a really good waitor service with sit down hot food and decent selection of drinks and champagnes (Krug Grand Cuvee, JW Blue etc). Now no waitor service, basically a glorified First Lounge (see above)
-Molton Brown Spa - book yourself in for a back, hand, face or foot massage before your flight  thumbsup . Also for Club World passengers.

I also rather like the LHR Terminal 1 First lounge because of the champagne bar Big grin

As for other lounges the AC/SAS London Lounge at LHR Terminal 3 comes to mind. Large split level with cinema, good number of free internet workstations.

Eager to try:
-SQ SilverKris lounge in SIN (Krug!)
-CX Wing/Pier at HKG
-VS Clubhouse at LHR (see if it lives up to the hype)
and las but not least....LH First Class Terminal @ FRA  thumbsup . Kudos to LH for pushing the boundary of amenities to First Class and ultra top tier passengers.

Hey FBGDavdison do you think you will try the First Class Terminal any time soon? It sounds awesome, though I never fly first because I think its unnecessary at my age, especially when business suffices!

regards

Paul

I have to agree, the SAS London Lounge kicks ass! Everyone who is using another Star Alliance lounge at LHR ist a fool!
