IAH with CO is definetly correct and I am sure it would work as wellas AV to BOG. Not sure about AA to JFK and MIA. MIA is too low yield for US carrier.

Honestly, I think overall LH cares a sh** about theis alliance partners when it comes to open new routes. Just look at the new eastern european routes that LH opened recently from MUC. In most cases OS was the only european airline serving them. So they are competing directly with OS.
And if GIG is a chance I think they should go for it without looking at RG. They are an independent airline and responsible for their own earnings towards their shareholders.

normally yes, but I will not see again the same cenario as last time whe RG introduced MUC...

I wish they'll be linked up with a 777, but then, it's probably not that realistic. The only time this flight would be viable is when they ferry all the students back and forth from/to vacation, but that's when I need to fly too :p
These are all realistic routes. In fact, the following have been flown at one time or another, but are not begin flown now:
ONT- RNO - Royal West, Reno Air
ONT- MCI - Eastern, Braniff II
ONT - TUS - Air Arizona (A small commuter that lasted a short while in the early 1990's)
ONT - ORD - American and United both flew this route before 9/11
ONT - HNL - Hawaiian tried it twice, but they always chared more than flying from LAX.
ONT - EWR - Continental flew it briefly before Gulf War I
ONT - STL - A long-time TWA route that AA dropped
ONT - AUS - Muse Air flew it briefly during their stay in ONT in 1984. They also briefly flew ONT-MAF, but I wouldn't recommend trying that route now!
