I must admit that I really liked the looks of the 747-8.
In general, the 747 is a stunning aircraft. It looks very proportional and sleek, even though it's very large. This cannot be said about the A380 IMHO

I like the way the 748 looks! But isn't there a chance ( la 787) that the desgin will change?
I like the idea of the A380 as a superjumbo, but I really don't like the way it looks, (I'm not anti-airbus, I'm just pro-aviation ).

One's graceful, the other looks like a beached whale...

Quoting Garri767 (Reply 5): How many times must i stress this, THEY Arent in DIRECT COMPETITION!!!
No one here has said anything about them being in DIRECT competition, but merely polled as to which one do the users of a.net prefer, i.e. why I said "which one you like more;" i.e why I posted this in the Polls and Preferences section...It is done all the time...people polling regarding favorite trijets...(727 vs. MD-11) NOOOOOO, THEY AREN'T IN DIRECT COMPETITION EITHER!!!! So relax and try not to "blow up" so easily, you're a bomb about to explode!!!
Twinjets...if one fails, work the other one twice as hard!!!

From what I am seeing now the 748 looks really good, and I am a Boeing fan. However, I prefer the 380 cause its a design never done before. And Boeing is known to change their design quite a bit.

Hey nice pics a full pic would be great but hey
Anyway, I would for sure go for the 747-800 looks
But, also must say they are not both the same size, no?
Is not the A380 bigger?
A massive 747 with 800 stylings would be F**KING AWESOME!!!
if they made a 1000 seater 747 like that would be great!
but even tho the size difference as the question quotes "Looks better" I would Have too go for the 748!
Cheers,

My first flight was on a B747-400 and since this flight I loved the B747 family really.
The B747-8 looks similar to a B747-400 and so the 748 is my choice.

My username will give my answer away. Don't get me wrong; I love ALL airplanes but the biggest Boeing will always get my vote. Long live the 747, and thank you Mr. Boeing for keeping her alive.

747-800 looks IMO nice than A380.
The higher cockpit and pointier nose make it look graceful as it's cutting through the sky. The A380 looks impressive, but bulky IMO. Looks quite short and stubby (I know it isn't, but that's the impression it gives).
