Thought this might be a fun topic and hope you will all add your votes. This isnt about our least favorite airline companies - - just names that we dont like.

My current least favorite is JET AIRWAYS of India. This is such a cop out of a name. It conveys nothing at all about the airline (ie nationality), particularly now that the airline is flying long haul international routes. In fact, it's not even accurate .... they fly ATR props too!

Lets hear your least favorite airline names now. I'm sure I'll think of more to add myself.

They are still jets.

I don't mind most airline names. The ones that really bother me are the crappy fly-by-night ones like Volareweb.com (not just the website, but the name of the carrier) or the ones that are simplified for no apparent reason (FlyBE comes to mind)

Technically, they have unducted props powered by a turbine engine. I guess it depends on your definition of jet engine.  Wink

Anyway, I hate all those tui planes, ruined great brands such as Corsair and Britannia.

SONG!

Sorry to my friends at DL. But, never liked that name from the start. The best thing DL did was fold Song into the Widget! I've said it before and I'll keep saying it even until NW retires their DC-9's. This move by DL will go down as one of their better decisions in recent history.

A runner up would be the late and not lamented Continental Light!

These are tour operator owned airlines and while they aren't great names, it would be unwise to call them anything else from a business standpoint. They make more sense from a UK point of view too.

What's wrong with Air China? Wouldn't Air India, Air France, Air xxxxxxx all be condemned? Unless you're saying you hate the word "China"?

For me... Ted is easily the worst name.
