This was a interesting year for me as far as making a first flight on different models of airplanes.
The planes include; DHC-8, EMB-145 (seat cushions feel like they are made from cinderblocks), 757-300 (Continental), 767-400 (Delta), 737-700 (got an upgrade to first class for surrendering my seat for a family, Thanks Continental!!), 737-800 (Southwest), 777-200 (United - ORD-KOA round trip - lovely flight), and a Cessna 206 (sight seeing flight around The Big Island).
Anyone else have several new (for them) airplanes that they rode on in 2005?

Hi!

I had 3 new types:

April 2005 - LIS/AMS - 737-800 - KL
May 2005 - AMS/KIX - 777-200ER - KL
September 2005 - LIS/OSL/LIS - 737-700 - BU

The 777 flight from AMS to KIX was absolutely fantastic... great IFE, great service, great airplane too!
Regards

Sure, we're concerned for our lives. Just not as concerned as saving 9 bucks on a roundtrip to Ft. Myers.

Flew my first 767 from ATL to SAN today! It was allrite...Row 32 by the window leaves hardly any legroom for any tall people. A beautiful aircraft and great service though!

EMB-145 (seat cushions feel like they are made from cinderblocks),

Blame the airline, not the Embraer 145. Each airline choose what quality and thickness cushion that goes into their plane.

Skywest CRJ-700
Chattacqua(sp?) EMB-170

Hey this may not really be related to this topic, but kinda is so here goes... How do you manage to get seats on an airlines first flight with a new model aircraft.. my partner and i are madly keen to get on the first MEL-LAX flight that QF operate with the A380.. im sure they will just sell the flight to big named people, media etc, and to us plebs at a highly inflated rate... but.. does anyone know how you can get tickets to this flight?? any help would be greatly appreciated..

Most airlines announce when the first flight will be, and you just book that flight.

For me no new aircraft this year, but a few new aircraft/airline combinations:

B777-200 and B747-400 on SQ
A340-300, A320-200, A321-100 on LH

2006 will bring new aircraft for me - I have one flight booked already, which will be served by either EMB110 or 120, and I haven't been on either. We will see what else we'll get  Wink

I got my first A340-600 flights this year, flying FRA-JNB-FRA on SAA; other than that, I got a few first airline/aircraft combinations:

AB: B737-700
LT: A320-200
LX: A320-200, ARJ85
OS: A319-100
SA: A319-100

And if they don't send something else, I'll get my first OS F100 this afternoon when I'll be flying back to Vienna for a month...

Regards,
Frank
