Howdy
Flying from Las Vegas and looking at getting to hawaii, so far CO looks best on its 764ER because you get lots of legroom and PTV's  Smile.

What are other reccomendations comfort wise, service wise and entertainment wise?

Cheers

not sure if HAL fly from LAS but I'm sure if you did fly them you'd get a 767-300ER - Altough CO sounds like a nice option...

Coolier than thou.

Delta, United, and Continental IMO are the best options.

They feature aircraft with a beautiful 777-style interior. If you want Economy Plus, fly United. If you want PTVs, fly Continental. If you want laptop power on any seat, fly Delta.

You can go non-stop on HA, I don't recommend them comfort wise. Everybody flies to HNL out of LAX, so a good question is who is it convenient to connect on? I personally preffer UA. You won't have a PTV but they don't charge you if you need headphones either, and no A.netter in his right mind would turn down ch. 9! It will take either a full Y fare, premier status, or asking the gate agent at the right time; but you can score yourself an Economy plus seat which will blow CO's 1 extra inch of room out of the sky. UA also offers a fun, unique game enroute: the Halfway to Hawaii game. Years ago the prize for winning was a bottle of champagne, but now its a macadamia nut gift pack... lets face it most tourists would buy one anyway!
Another plus for UA is the sheer number of flights they offer. There is plenty of time flexibility. There are five a day each from SFO and LAX to HNL, plus one from DEN that could work for you. (One ORD too, but that's out of the way). If you are headed to OGG, KOA, or LIH they offer at plenty of flights as well. No one else comes close.

I see you are working on your PPL... if you get here to HNL and want to fly the islands shoot me an email!

Normally, UA has had the best fares of the legacies. A quick search on orbitz for a 21 day advance purchase shows UA at 425 r/t w/ all taxes and fees. They are beaten by ATA with a non-stop at 406, but the only difference in the fare is fees since you don't have to land anywhere else. The base fare is the same for both. CO didn't show up on the list, presumably because there is no west bound connection from LAS.

I would personally take UA for the elite benifits- but if I were you, I'd go with CO. PTV's would be nice on a flight to Hawaii.  Wink

Try HMY(Harmony)
Fly LAS-YVR cnx YVR-HNL. You would have to check schedules as limited flights, but this carrier is comparative to Wardair (if you are familiar with Wardair) from back in the 80's...AWESOME!! As for IFE, no PTV's as of yet that I know of, but a portable DVD player is conducive to a 5hr flight YVR-HNL on a B757....

You can't get there from here.

I am not sure about UA,DL,or CO but you will get a meal on HA. Add to that a non-stop flight and the option to rent a Digeplayer with over 12 different movies and assorted tv shows and cartoons would be the way to go. Also flight attendants young enough that they dont use the beverage cart as a walker when they go down the aisle.

HA flys from LAS to HNL also with PTV's and has better service than many mainland carriers.....

From LAS-HNL on CO, where would you have to connect? IAH? HP is starting LAS-HNL/OGG in March if you want to consider that option, granted it will be 757s, but it's worth mentioning
