Window Seat.....A Or K?

Hello everyone
This topic may sound stupid but I thought I'd give it a try. For most flights I have been on A and K have both been the seat designators for the window seats (A being port side and K being starboard).

Whenever I fly I always have the preference of choosing K over A. My reason is because you get to enter/leave via the L1 door most of the time and also meaning that you might get a glance at the cockpit.

I was wondering what everyone elses preferences were?

A definitely....

yes u might get a glimpse at the cockpit.. but most of the time im rarely on an airbus or a 777.. when i fly out of HKG, im always on a 747 so i dont bother choosign whiever side.. personally i like A cuz i can sneak up to the cockpit before and after the flight without a whole bunch of hassle with the FAs... ~ well i fly united so flight deck visits is typical and allowed on a regular basis ~ i know go up without even bothering to ask a FA.. just go straight in, knock on the door and go 'hi Capt. i got a question for you' and it goes from there... =)

so A.. definiltey

-tim

and im left handed so i can lean on the left hand side mroe comfortably =D

I prefere K though, I like to lean to the wall with my right side, so..

Only when flying intercontinental west- or eastbound and having decided to go for the window seat (which I usually only do in Business Class), I chose that window seat that faces out of the sun (for better visibilities):
Flying westbound from Europe to North America: K
Eastbound form North America to Europe: A

I prefer K, feels nicer to lean on my left hand side, and I am right handed....go figure.

My personal preference , when I can choose, is 1K, most likely because my brother always takes 1A, however, I always think 1A sounds better  Smile

I don't know which I prefer. I think F/K starboard windows are slightly better for me, but I'm not that fussed. Usually I pick a side based on both the departing and arriving airports & which runway is in operation etc etc. That way I get the best photo opportunities.

My like both but depends on the flight...

When I fly business class I prefer the A seat. But thats only on short/medium haul business. If its long haul business I prefer the K seat. in economy I deinately prefer the K seat...just can't get comfy in A, unless i have the whole row to myself!

Flying this way round you also get to see the scenery - Greenland, Canada, USA east coast. Do it the other way and you only see water most of the way!

As HT in reply 4 points out, the sun has a lot to do with which side I sit on.
This week I have a morning flight to FLL so I will have an A seat and my return is in the late afternoon and I have an F or D(if moved to First)seat.
safe

does it really matter when u're in first class  Wink or business class if u're on LH, but yeh ~ geee who cares A or K in First =D

how do you know which side is dept and arr.?? do you change your seats at the airport when u're at the counter b4 boarding or somethign??

nahh.. i dunno why but i've done that on multople occasions in Hong Kong, NRT, ORD and LHR as well.. nothgins wrong.. the pilot welcomes it ~

(well im chinese and a 18yo dunno if that makes a difference)

i used to politely ask the FAs on the upper deck.. they stroll to the flight deck ask and come back to tell me to go up.. now i just jump the middlemen (the FAs) and jiust go up myself and knock if they reject me i leave (never happened yet)

if u're on UA u're typically entitled to a flight deck visit..

A usually... though I did fly in K on CX for a couple of sectors in a row and it felt weird going back to A.

Trent.

I do quite enjoy a spot of flying - more so when it's not in Economy!
