Hey everyone, what in your opinion is the best airlines to take to Frankfurt from New York if you have taken the route?
Things to remember.
1. Not looking for price but it being cheap would help.
2. Does not have to be direct
3. Can leave from either JFK or EWR
4. Doesn't matter the type of aircraft either
Thanks guys.

Continental's service leaves from EWR to FRA and is normally flown by a B764. I have been on this flight several times and it is always a pleasure.

Personaly I like both EWR and JFK (Terminal C at EWR or Terminal 4 at JFK are the best)
Depending on aicraft type you can choose EWR or JFK:
Direct Opt - Continental (EWR and 764)
Non Direct Opt 1 - Swiss (JFK and 343 or 332)
Non Direct Opt 2 - British Airways (JFK for 744, 772 or 763 and EWR for 772 or 763)

How about SK's or SQ's service as well as LH and DL?
Another that comes to mind even though they would fly out of LGA is US, how about them?

Your choices are basically either CO or LH; both will be on relatively new aircraft, but only CO will have PTVs.

Quoting B742 (Reply 2): The best service will be on CO, PTV's all the way. LX and BA service are pretty similar!

Don't forget that Singapore Airlines, the best airline in the world by many people, operates a non-stop JFK-FRA

It does? How does it compare on price off hand? I have never flown with them, but I think I will make it a point if they are not too outrageous. Hey thanks!!

This topic proves one point: PTVs are important, period. If they weren't that important, I'm sure at least somebody would suggest LH. I guess the management in LH ought to do something about it. What do you guys think?

Take KLM out of EWR or JFK. Great planes (A332 or 772), both with PTV´s. The cabin is ample, legroom great, food better, good service in general, unlimited alcohol. And the crew is great always as well. And AMS is a great place to shop and connect.
Let us know what you choose and have a nice flight.

I like LH, and would definately suggest them when traveling in Business or 1st Class; there economy class product is not that impressive. PTV are not the end all for me. While it is nice to have a PTV, I enjoy looking out of the window for example. What would you have done back in the 1960's and 70's? Transatlantic on LH, even in cattle class isn't all that bad, I just perfer CO to them (and not because CO has PTVs)

Quoting Pieinthesky (Reply 9): SQ. Total no brainer. They offer some good rates in Raffles Class for FRA-JFK, although the early departure puts a few off.
Early departure means early arrival. I flew LH once from Boston and got to FRA at 0520!! Between 0500-0700 is my favorite time anyway.

What about AI, I'm pretty sure they fly that route none stop. I flew them ORD-FRA for a great price. They can have some good deals.

AI doesn't fly to FRA from New York, at least non-stop. They fly to LHR out of JFK, but not to FRA.

Take SQ, without a doubt. I took this route last Dec/Jan and it was exceptionally good. The Kris world system is excellent, 60 movies on demand, usually a very friendly crew and A LOT of food!!! really recommendable

NO American airline even comes close to the SIA in-flight product. Check out the SIA website (the USA location pages) and you'll find Frankfurt on offer at $430

27 DL4EVR: DL flies from JFK on a 763. However, if you're going to fly in Y there are no PTVs.
