I have to make a trip to several destinations and I can`t decide the routing.
My departure point is OSL and the destinations are
-YUL
-Antigua
-GRU
-EZE
-Abidjan
-BEY
-DXB
I am Eurobonus club member (star alliance)
Any suggestion
Alex!!!

Have you tried to use the "Round the world" planning tools available from StarAlliance and OneWorld (on their respective websites) ?

Is this to be private travel (i.e. keeping ticket costs under close control) or business travel ?

Probably it will be easiest to make two seperate trips out of it (each starting/ending in OSL):
#1: The Americas (maybe "Antigua" will be a "sidetrip"-ticket ...)
#2: Africa/Asia (but it might be more economical to split this into two trips).

A problem will be ABJ (Abidjan):
According to Amadeus, basically you have the option of AF via CDG or SN via BRU (apart form VU to MRS or AT via CMN).

BEY and DXB can either be combined on one ticket, or if it is more interesting (or economical) fly to BEY on one ticket and get another ticket BEY - DXB v/v (a number of airlines ply that route).

That´s all for now.
For any more specific input, you´ll need to specify your dates and cost preferences (see above).

You are totally right HT.I will definitely fly Las Americas and than another trip to Africa and the Middle east .I want it to be only one privet trip but it`s difficult I guess.what you think if I make OSL-FRA-YUL-ANU-MIA-GRU-EZE-FRA Star alliance and than OSL-CDG-ABJ-BEY-DXB-CDG-OSL Skyteam?
Thanks HT for your advice!!!
Alex!!!

what you think if I make OSL-FRA-YUL-ANU-MIA-GRU-EZE-FRA Star alliance

"Problem" sectors are (remarks valid for Star Alliance only):
YUL - ANU: no nonstop services - available on AC and/or US via YYZ or PHL
ANU - MIA: no nonstop service; change in CLT or similar

As this trip (continued to OSL from FRA) would NOT meet the requirements set for "Round the world"-trips, it would become a "massive2 return ticket with a lot of stops. Therefore the ticketprice might be skyhigh ...
EZE is somewhat of a deadend (aka. cul-de-sac) on a westbound RTW on *A; therefore it might be easier to route OSL-FRA-EZE-GRU-MIA-CLT-ANU-PHL-YUL and continue on a speedy return home via Asia like YUL-YYZ-NRT-CPH(or FRA)-OSL, which would be an allowed RTW-routing and possibly cheaper than the routing mentioned by you.

OSL-CDG-ABJ-BEY-DXB-CDG-OSL Skyteam

ABJ - BEY: available only via CDG, but this should be no rear problem ...

I haven´t been able to get a quote for fares yet ...

Is`t possible to fly YUL-somewhere in Asia than DXB-BEY-FRA-OSL
Thanks for all the info you gave me!!!

Oh I was unaware that MEA is member of SkyTeam !

There appears to be no *A-member flying DXB (or AUH)-BEY nonstop (and AFAIK QR via DOH is not allowed on *A-RTW ...). But in case a seperate oneway-ticket DXB(AUH)-BEY is affordable, you could use any carrier and have that sector as "surface" in your RTW-ticket (but the miles will count for the total number of miles of the RTW-ticket).

Um......on *A there's OSL-LHR-YUL-MIA-GRU-EZE-JNB-ABJ-FRA-OSL.......and then OSL-FRA-BEY-DXB-BEY-FRA-OSL on SK and ME.......correct me if I'm wrong.

1. you skipped ANU ... Big grin
2. no *A-member flies nonstop between ABJ and Europe. However, technically the routing could be ...EZE-JNB-ABJ-JNB-FRA-OSL, but still costs for such a routing would be skyhigh and the routing is not valid for RTW-tickets (1. change in direction; 2. no crossing of the Pacifc ocean; 3. backtracking JNB-ABJ-JNB).

Quoting CXA330300 (Reply 7):
OSL-FRA-BEY-DXB-BEY-FRA-OSL on SK and ME

good suggestion. Maybe make that two tickets:
#1: OSL-BEY-OSL on *A (LH/SK)
#2: BEY-DXB-BEY on ME

@Alex,
keep an eye on ticket costs. I can be that many seperate tickets turn out to be cheaper than one or two giant ones.
