Hey,

As I am goin to europe from AKL soon I would like to know if anybody knows whether all of BI's 767's will have the new interiors with PTV's? Last I heard they had only done 4 of them but that was ages ago. If they won't be finished by april, when will they be finished. What routes currently have the new interior and if anybody has ever flown with them before could you please post any comments on service levels, entertainment, food, brunei airport e.t.c.

Thank you,
Colin

v8-rbf/g/h/j have all been retrofitted, v8-rbl has not, nor -rbk, i think. so four out of their six b763ers have been retrofitted. if this is what you heard ages ago, it would appear that they will keep 2 un-retrofitted.

this is only a guess, but i would think two of them are on lhr-dxb-bwn-syd and the other 2 on fra-bkk-bwn-bne-akl. this is based on word from friends who said that the a/c operating lhr-dxb-bwn formed the syd service a couple of hours later.

if you haven't already, check out skytrax at www.airlinequality.com

Last I heared AKL-BNE-BWN were old config 763's while BWN-DXB-LHR were new config 763's not sure about BWN-BKK-FRA though. This was about a year ago so sould have changed since then.

Why? What is the point of this? Wouldn't offering one long-haul product with the beds in business and ptv's in economy be better for customer familiarization with BI?

Noooo lol, I was really hoping for a new config aircraft the whole way through! Does anybody have any experience in flying with the old configuration?

Just checked it out, and someone said on the trip comments that they had been told by a flight attendant that 5 out of the 6 763's had been retrofitted now.

I would have thought BWN-LHR would have taken two aircraft by itself as the route is daily?

in that case it would be only v8-rbl that has not been retrofitted, as the seating map for this a/c is explicity stated as non-retrofit, on bi's site.

the sole non-retofit 763 may be used on regional higher capacity routes such as hkg.

We get them all through here on a rotation. They don't publicise the ptvs here, so when they come with the older ones it doesn't matter. I've seen both F & L within the last few weeks here.

So that means that there is like a 50/50 chance that you get a new config 767?
Also, after reading this month's in-flight magazine of BI, there was an advertisement for it's 'sky'bed' and underneath it says that skybed is available on all LHR, DXB, BKK, FRA and selected Australia routes. So, do BI have skybeds on 767's where in economy there still sin't ptv's?

Does anybody have any experience of flying on BI?
