I just flew from IAD to BOS on United Express/Messa flight 7190 and I couldn't believe how quick it was. Normally that route takes a good hour and five minutes to an hour and fifteen minutes but our total point to point flight time was more like 50 minutes flat. Unfortunately the total flight time was more like an hour and a half because ATC held us at IAD for about 15 minutes and then held us again in a pattern around PVD for about another 15 minutes, but that's life, what can you do?
So anyways, on to my question; what flights have you been on that have been noticeable quicker than usual. I'd be eager to hear about any transcontinental or intercontinental flights that have been much faster than the average.

LAX-NRT 9 seconds! Just after take off roll we blew out #3 on a 747-200 (1985) the F/A said "Welcome to Japan!" and we taxied back to the NWA gate. Funny thing was that a bunch of deportees were on the flight headed back to the Philippines, and when the door was closed and sealed for T/O the INS people just drove off. Assuming these people were as good as gone. Not so, as soon as the door was reopened the ilegals bolted amd were gone like the wind. We all got hotels and the NWA sent a 747 just back from europe via MLS with no Japan customs forms and no booze!

Hmm.. At first I thought you meant the fshortest flight you've taken, which would be ZAG-VIE
Then I noticed you meant shortest flight in relation to scheduled.. like helped by a good tailwind, and I don't really know what that would be. Probably some trans-atlantic flight.

I have never flown on the route but I've heard it is quite quick, CZM-CUN. The distance is about 70km (43 miles). On a propeller you should make about 15-20 minutes. I did not find this flight on expedia but you should find it on your local travel agency.

Quoting Jeremy (Reply 10): A Usairways Express EMB-120 from MIA to FLL, about 20 miles.
how useless !!!!
My personal shortest comemrcial flight was on a CDG-GVA flight where we were diverted to LYS because GVA runway was closed due to a debris. We took back off from LYS to GVA and the flight was 15 min long !

For me it's a tie:
(this actually answers the question AviationAddict asked)
1) I just returned from Seattle where the flight left 30 minutes late and arrived in Chicago on time, so it was 30 minutes faster than scheduled. And a good thing too, as i was able to make my connection.
2) A PeopleExpress flight from HOU to EWR that also arrived 30 minutes early.
Shortest flight (what everyone else is answering) was: MBJ-KIN on JM. I have done this one many times. it's scheduled for 40 minutes, but when we pull back to taxi they announce a flight time of no more than 20 minutes.
