Just curious to see what 5th freedom flights A.netters have flown. I am interested in the airline, type of aircraft, routing, how much air fare, type of service and any memories about the airline or the flight, year or decade of your flight.
Thanks for posting.
As an example, here are some of my 5th freedom flights log:
Royal Air Maroc AT 747-400 JFK-YUL RT airfare $180 in 2000. food: gourmet carrot cake with Coke petite canned in Casablanca; great to see Moroccan FAs and passengers.
Philippine Airlines PR A340-300 LAS-YVR OW airfare $120 in 2005
food: hot sandwich, fruit cocktail, choice of drinks and an inflight movie.
Cathay Pacific CX A340-300 JFK-YVR RT business class using AA 45K FF miles
This is the best way to burn AA 45K FF miles. you get to use BA lounge in JFK,
food: the best, they have a Cathay Pacific signature kiwi drink, the papaya fruit was meticulously picked by the chef with excellent "aldente" and sweet,
IFE excellent (so many choices), the Cathay lounge in YVR is the best so far in my experience. I was the only one in there 2 hours before departure and the food is excellent with choice of dimsum!
Emirates EK 777-300 HKG-BKK OW airfare $180 in 2004; food: hot dinner, IFE available, FAs multi-ethnic and very polite and courteous, flight 100% full mostly Britons flying to London via BKK and DXB.
