Hi guys,
I need a little help on a project. My topic is "Semantics on Airline liveries" or "Meaning of Different Airline lliveries". I have to present it infornt of various people and the presentation has to be approx 15min.
I need to choose three airlines from each continent (America, Africa, Europe, Asia/Oceania). I should talk about:
1). Religion
2). Nationalism
3). Art
4). History
5). Other meanings.
I was thinking I can use DL (Greek alphabet), TA (Symbol representing Lat Am), Garuda (represening a religion) among others.
Can you help me a little bit? It would be nice if someone knows a meaning of a livery to post it. I will then research further. What about if I email airlines and ask them? Do you think they will tell me?
Thank yoiu very much for your help.
Adam

El Al is an easy one. Israeli flag colors and they also have a star of David as a part of the livery. The star of David is also on the Israeli flag.

The macaw is representative of the Central American fauna; it can be found all throughout the region. It has been part of TA's livery since the early 80's:

The cedar tree is the symbol of Lebanon and occupy the center of the Lebanese flag.At the same time it is biblical, seems like Jesus cross was made from it and the word cedars is present many times in the Bible.Pharoes boats use to be built by Phoenicians from the cedar tree .So Checo77 ,here you have an Airline with a symbol representing Nationalism,Religion,History and Fauna
