I've never done a long flight (2.5+ hours) on a small plane yet but tommorow I'm stuck in an AC A320 for 5 hours and 35 minutes. Geez, I'm not looking forward to that. The fulight is 100% full in Y when I lasted checked.

So, whats you longest flight on a small plane. (A319,A320,A320,B737, etc)

To be honest, it was a nice experience but I prefer the regular Business Classes on "big" planes.

That really sucks. Especially if you get stuck in a middle seat. AC has really pushed the limits for what pax will tolerate on longer transcon flights. Of course their service has become awful too, so that just makes the whole experience worse.

I have been in similar situations a few times, and will do everything I can to avoid it. Alternate airlines with better fleet choices, different departure times for reduced loads or different aircraft types etc.

And driving in your MUCH smaller, slower car for the same amount of time between fill ups would be somehow be better?

I did 5.6 hours nonstop in a Comanche 260 from eastern Colorado to Las Vegas; over the Rockies and by the Grand Canyon. This was on a coast to coast flight done over three days.

Back in the 90s, I did a flight from MCO to BTR in a Seminole with four people on board to get away from a hurricane. It was about six hours at best economy cruise in a light twin that was barely larger than the lav of a 737.

JFK-SJC-JFK on a jetBlue A320-- 6h 15m outbound and 5h 10m inbound.
EWR-OMA-EWR on a Continental Express ERJ-- over 3 hours each way.
MSP-FAI on a Northwest 757-- 5h 30m

Wouldn't care to repeat the NW 757 experience-- great flight, but I just can't stand NW's seat on the 757 for that long. The CO/B6 flights were great. I prefer the smaller planes on longer routes.. more intimate that way. I enjoyed my EWR-LGW flight on a CO 762 far more than the return on a 772.

We had to stay in the plane, on the tarmac, with nothing else but a couple of glasses of water in 8 hours.

A bad bad day...

Damn, I haven't had any really long flights on narrowbodies. I suppose that MMX-KGS onboard a Transwede F100 in 1993 was the longest, around 3 hrs I believe.

Sure, we're concerned for our lives. Just not as concerned as saving 9 bucks on a roundtrip to Ft. Myers.
