I've flown IB 6253 (row 18) and 6250 (row 15) just a year ago....
The seats were preassigned as i'm iberia plus member. We (I and a friends also ibplus member) sat at the right side of the plane (2-4-2) and le leg room was quite decent (32" according to their website) but the central 4 seemed more "claustrophobic"
2 movies shown on main screens both in English and Spanish along with 6-8 audio channels. If you fly a -600 the screens will be TFT, if -300, CRT. The -600 fleet also haa a camera situated at the tail and it's shown live during take-off
My tip... you'll depart from JFK at 21.15 and land in madrid arround 10.30 (but the flight time is only 7 hours) so bear that in mind for the jet lag
One meal service about 1 hour after take off and breakfast 1 hour before landing.... As said here, crew will misteriously disappear after meal service.... don't know what people expect, to make them sit next to you to chat?
The return leg takes off at 17.00 and meal is served arround 18.00 so depending on your meal habits you'll be hungry or not at all.... dinner will be served 1h.30/2h before landing. you'll be given the I94 form for inmigration about 1hour-30mins before landing

I have flown Iberia many times, including JFK-MAD-JFK and MAD-BCN-MAD. I flew Iberia 6252 back in August 2004 on the A340-300 and the flight was very
pleasant. The seats were very comfortable and the service was pretty good. I sat in 18A. In August 2005 I flew Iberia 6251 on the A340-600 and the flight was great. It was the first time I had flown on the A340-600 and I was extatic. The aircraft is really great. The seats on the A340-600 are different then the ones on the A340-300, they are smaller and a little less comfortable but they do have head rests which are very comfortable. I was very impressed with the size of the drop down LCD screens which actually stayed down the entire duration of the flight, even on take off and landing. I was super impressed with the tail camrea which is a really great feature. The service on the flight was a little less then I was expecting but still good. I sat in 29L.
This summer I am again flying Iberia 6252 and Iberia 6253 on the A340-600.
It looks like in April both flight will start being flown by the A340-600. For the winter a majority of the flights go back to the A340-300.

Quoting Timboflier215 (Reply 1): lol, from the anti-IB sentiment so often found on these forums, if u are flying em, seems like u do need help!!
Quoting CRGsFuture (Reply 3): Well that JFK-MAD is a A346, I believe the only A346 into JFK so I guess it's good. Couldn't tell you much about IB though.
well Iberia is indet not such a great airline and I had a very negative flight with them in dezember also discuessed here at airliners.net with over 100 replys... but so be true, if they are cheap than the rest of airlines I would take them again...
