For something a little more light-hearted than the usual topics, I ask what in your opinion is the worst airline slogan? I nominate DL for "Good goes around"

Iberia's "Punctuality is our goal".
That one is very ironic if you just had 4 flights with them in two weeks and all delayed by over an hour.

I always laughed at Eastern's "The wings of Man" slogan. Given that, at the time, they were primarily focused on flights around the eastern seaboard of the U.S. it was comical that they would pick such a grandiose slogan.

"At American Airlines, we know it's the destination, not the flight."

In my opinion, the biggest cop out ever for an airline to use.

Braniff's "If you've got it, flaunt it."
Hooray for vagueness!

BA's "We'll take more care of you."
That always sounded really odd to me. Is it correct British English?

Also, didn't Aeroflot at one point have a slogan that was like, "Cordially yours, Aeroflot"? Definitely didn't like that one, either.

United "Rising".

Northwest "We're not happy until you're not happy".
(just kidding).

My vote goes to "Good Goes Around" -- and I can seldom resist the urge to tack on "but great landed on the first try"

American's "We Know Why You Fly" is a close second, IMHO, because it just creaps me out in a Big Brother-kind of way ("Who told you why I'm flying? I don't want you to know why I'm flying!) (What was wrong with "Something Special in the Air" or even "Doing what We Do Best")

While I have to say that "Work Hard. Fly Right." doesn't really inspire me, it does convey an accurate picture, IMO, of Continental (i.e. airline focused primarially on business traveler, and providing the best inflight service in the US)

Didn't aeroflot used to have something like:

"We don't smile because we're serious about making you happy" ?

That one's quite comically rubbish

The above expression was the result of the merged BOAC/BEA into the British Airways as a comparative continuation of BOAC's long standing slogan 'BOAC takes good care of you'

Ahhh, now I get it. Makes sense, even if it is an odd way to create a superlative. Whatever happened to good, better, best? Lol.

Quoting Ardian (Reply 11):

No, you're not. Every time I open up a magazine, I see one of their ads. While they look very well done, that tagline never made much sense to me.

Avianca's "Aqui estan pasando cosas!" which roughly translates to "Things are happening here"... Well, it's about damn time! Although it does emphasize on the fact that they're getting better, I still think it's a stupid slogan.

I hate United's "It's time to fly." Well, most of the times I see the commercial, it isn't. It's actually time to get my ass off the couch and go take a shower and then go to class. Besides, UA doesn't even fly in TLH, but the commercials are always on tv. And don't even get me started on those stupid cartoons!

Delta's "We love to fly and it shows." Clearly Delta and I have a very different concept of love.

A bit creepy... usually, on a 767, 737, ERJ etc, I prefer to sit ABOVE the wing..

I second AA's We Know Why You Fly.

Malev Hungarian Airlines used to be:

"Wings to Fly"
Don't know about you, but I like my aircraft to be more than just wings.

now its:

"One more Reason to Travel"
If you have flown Malev recently you know its no reason to travel, nor is it a reason not to travel. So perhaps it should be "Malev, Travel with us if you need to"

Although I do see your point, I like UA's "It's time to fly" for its simplicity. It doesn't imply anything else (Unlike AA's slogan as Lincoln pointed out). UA's slogan just means, "get off the couch and go fly somewhere," (which is a good idea considering spring break is coming up). Anyway, we're all entitled to our opinions.

Does anyone remember the Dudley Moore movie 'Crazy People'. They did an advertising slogan for an airline.

A simple message set against a big picture of a burning jet aircraft saying something like....
..... 'at least we'll get you there'......

I liked that.
