You know what this site is missing... some great shots of the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird.
In my opinion, this aircraft is an engineering masterpiece unmatched by any other design even today, 39 years after it first flight. To consider the feat was accomplished in an era when the slide-rule was an engineer's only friend gives me further appreciation for the secret work carried-out by Kelly Johnson's dedicated staff at the Lockheed Skunk Works program.
It would be great to find a couple of shots really demonstrating the power of this magnificent speed-demon. You know... the kind of shots that show the blue diamond pattern extending from the afterburner and the aircraft rapidly climbing into an infinate blue sky. I've seen a few shots like this on NASA's web site, but was curious if anyone in the A.NET community also had some good pics to share?
Thanks,
Brian
