Occasionally on a spotting/photo trip to IAH (or any airport for that matter) I take along my i-Pod and select a number of airline/aviation related songs. My favourites include'

'Jet Airliner' Steve Miller Band
'Learning To Fly' Pink Floyd
'Learn To Fly' Foo-Fighters
'L.A. International Airport' Susan Raye

You might recall "In the Early Morning Rain" by Gordon Lightfoot, and covered by Peter, Paul and Mary. I heard it for the first time in a long time recently and it brought back memories ("big 707 set to go...").

Another one:

"Travelling Band" Creedence Clearwater Revival:

737 coming out of the sky
Oh won't you take me down to Memphis on a midnight ride
I want to move
Playing in a travelling band, yeah
Well I'm flying 'cross the land
Trying to get a hand
Playing in a travelling band

 Big grin

Does that count?

My glass is neither 1/2 empty nor 1/2 full, rather, the glass itself is twice as big as it should be.

"I'm So Fly" - Lloyd Banks

OK, so the last one doesn't count, but it's kinda catchy.

One song that comes to mind is a country Christmas song by Doug Stone a few years back:

"Santa's flying a 747 tonight.
Bringing my baby back to me on a 9:25 flight
I've been good so he's gonna treat me right.
Santa's flying a 747 tonight."

C'mon Big B, FLY!

Well on my ipod I have a jazz version sung by Caroline Daly of "I still call Australia home" QF's theme song that was the only version of the song I could find on itunes. I also have Vanessa Amorosi's "Shine" which was AN's last theme song. I listen to Shine every once in a while but hardly ever listen to I still call Australia home.
