Hi to everybody!

I am thinking about going one month to South America this summer (beginning of August to beginning of September). I would like to visit SCL, EZE and MVD!

Can anyone recommand me an airline (from any European airport)? I was wondering about PLUNA from MAD with a B767... I had never heard about them and last topic on A.net forums is back in 2000!

I think it will be quite easy and cheap then to move between SCL, EZE and MVD!

Any suggestion is welcomed!
Thanks a lot!

Regards,
HBDAN

Hi!

I'm in Montevideo quite a lot, as my Dad has just bought an estancia in Uruguay.

Normally, I fly MAN-MAD-MVD, but this route only seems to operate every other day. I sometimes have to fly via EZE to get back to MAD. All of these flights are with Iberia (no, they're not a bad airline!).

I've been across to Argentina for weekends, and I flew with Aerolineas Argentinas from MVD to AEP. Aeroparque is a nice little airport, not far from the city centre at all.

I have no experience with Pluna at all, apart from seeing the little ATR on the ground in MVD ready to go to Punta del Este (by the way, Punta del Este is quite nice).

Let me recommend Iberia to you. In my opinion, it's the easiest was to Buenos Aires or Montevideo direct from Madrid.

Any other questions, please ask!

David

Hi HBDAN !
If you want to fly to South America, fly Aerolineas,Aerolineas Argentinas.I suggest BUE from MAD or FCO as your main gate than 2.15 minutes west to SCL and 45 minutes east to MVD and a big choice of flights to both destinations
Alex!!!

Hi HBDAN, nice to see your interest in these destinations !

Wow ! You really want to go one month there during winter in the south hemisphere ? For me and if money is not the problem for you, try LAN from MAD to SCL, I would be very curious to read a trip report of that leg (but oh well, that's only for my taste). There is also TAM from CDG-GRU-SCL.

Again, if money isn't a problem, avoid IB... I've done a couple of times MAD-SCL and they are average, the service is minimum, not a great experience.

Anyhow... have a good planning !
Cheers,
Alejandro

Their new Business Plus cabin is brilliant.
I agree that they were average before they had the new Business Plus cabin installed.

Winter in Montevideo is really not that bad at all. The last time I was there in winter, was last July, and it was quite sunny on some days, although with occasional very windy periods.

Thanks very much to all of you!

Yes, it's a pity to go there during july/august/september, but there I will have a "nothing-to-do" month and I want to enjoy it!!!

Nobody of us a.netters has tried PLUNA? I am very curious about them!

HBDAN
