was aviation history made on the same day you were celabrating your bitrthday, or on the day you would later be spending your birthday??

my birthday is 13th may, and the first ever 737 flew on my b'day in 1969 or summit, way before my time, but still on the 13th may.

Anything like that for you?

Well my b-day is August 24. Only 2 events that I know of happened on this day, but not in the same year I was born.
First was that Donald Douglas was born on this day. Of course Mister Douglas was the father of all the DC aircraft, and more. The other event is that the Bell UH-1B took its maiden flight on August 24. It was this model that became better known as the Huey in the Vietnam War. That's all, folks. Regards.

The only known delivery on my exact birthday was a Qantas 707-138B, registered VH-EBJ. What's the status of this bird today, I don't know. Last I heard, it was in Cairo in a junkyard. Regards.

My birthday: December, 17th 1979.

Don't know if anything happend this particular day, but:

76 years earlier - 17.12.1903 - first motorized flight ever (Wright brothers - Kitty Hawk)

44 years earlier - 17.12.1935 - first flight of the Douglas DC3 (one of my all time favourites)

So, seems like I had no choice but to become an aviation geek...  bigthumbsup

Best Regards

Aaron (Azza40), i would love to try airfleets.net to find that bird, but they don't list the first generation jetliners, such as the 707, DC-8, CV-990, etc.
I visit that site often, but they won't listen to my suggestion on the older types. Perhaps you know of another site? Regards.

My b-day is on July 15. On this day in 1916, Pacific Aero Products was founded in Seattle.

Never heard of them? Well, maybe their current name will sound familiar... Boeing!

Funny, I was thinking I'd post that before opening the thread, but I now see I've been beaten. Big grin
