I flew AMS-IAD with PH-AOD on saturday, KLM's newest A332. It was delivered just a few days before, and we as a crew had the honour to work
on this bird's very first commercial flight!
I was wondering if any of you ever got to be on a first commercial flight?

Not first flight but first day in service, I flew DUS-LHR some years ago with LH and the announcement included "this is this aircraft's fifth commercial flight on its first day in service with Lufthansa." It had that new car smell too!
After Monday and Tuesday even the calendar says WTF...

I was on Jazeera Airways´ first flight from Kuwait to Dubai last year, 30 October, which was operated by 9K-CAA, an Airbus A320 also performing its first commercial flight.

When I was 13, I used a non-rev pass and flew on AC's first L1011 service, YYZ-YVR-YYZ, March 1973. Funny thing, the flight numbers still exist, AC105 and AC148.

26 March 1995 FDH-TXL
First Commercial flight of Deutsche BA's (DI) new Saab 2000 D-ADSA. Great flight with a special touch.
Two other flights, even though not the first commercial service, were quite special as well, as they took place 3 weeks before the official first operation:
05 March 1993 FRA-AMS LH4262 and
07 March 1993 AMS-FRA LH4263
Both operated by the very first A340, D-AIBA. LH used it on European routes before officially starting the FRA-JFK flights with it at the end of March 1993.

I was on Aer Lingus EI-DES first flight a few months ago. The crew just made a little announcement about the first flight. Just think, in a few months some people might be lucky enough to be able to say "I was on the first SQ A380 flight"

Too many years ago to even remember the year - my first flight on a jet was a Braniff 707 making its maiden flight. I was interested in the fact that it was on its maiden flight until they started the engines. Then the world changed for me - especially when I was pushed back in the seat for the first time on take off. Like other "first times" in life I can still remember that feeling rather well.

I spent $25 (plus taxes) to be on the first revenue JetBlue E190 flight. Not only was this the first revenue flight for this aircraft, it was also the first revenue flight for this aircraft type!
(I flew BOS-JFK - there was an almost simultaneous flight going JFK-BOS but we were considered "first" due to being scheduled first.)
Unlike several subsequent E190 flights, this one went off without a hitch! The array of tv stations and XM radio is overwhelming on a 45 minute flight!

I've been on a Fokker 100 flight before the aircraft was delivered to the customer. Don't know if that counts but at least the aircraft was brand-new and, for the occasion, "operated" by Fokker when they were still around. This was in the Summer of 1992.
The aircraft hadn't even had it's final paintjob; it was in ugly Euro-white with "promotie-vlucht" (promotional flight) painted on the fuselage...

I flew on the revenue passenger flight for the first Continental 757-300 back in January 2002 from EWR to FLL. I don't remember the reg. of the plane but the pilot announced that it was the first flight for the aircraft and the first 757-300 flight for Continental.
