It does remind me of AM but i like it (as i do AM paint scheme) However i think there current livery is the best livery around. This is kinda biased because ive grown up around AA. DL and AA have the best IMO.

Yup, pretty much like AM.
I think it would look just as nice with its present day colors but with the stripes painted in the same pattern as in the fake picture and with the eagle on the tail.

I love the curent livery but the 2nd image down (AA 737-800) is quite sexy too. I think "American" on the tail is very classy. The 3rd one (772) is a little bit overdone and too jazzy.
The Current AA livery may be physically old but its design is timeless. Nowhere has any airline kept the same livery for so long in the US. At least not the majors.
Pan Am has a place of its' own. You call it the world, we call it home.

I love the original one posted, as well as the 2nd one down in Diamond's post. Those both look great, but it's not like we'll see AA changing liveries anytime soon.

Thanks Qqflyboy, I am very bad with linking things on here. I do think the current livery is timeless......But, I think it would be nice to have some special
colors flying around just to spice things up.

Well, I don't like the livery posted on the original topic at all. Reminds me of a whale.
Now the ones that Diamond posted are a bit better, but paint scheme #2 in his reply is fantastic! THAT, is a livery that I'd be okay with American using.
But the current livery is a classic, is still beautiful, and I see no reason to replace it at all. Why does everyone keep demanding that American change their livery? Some of these same folks were calling for Delta to do the same in the widget days...now whenever someone sees a widget at the airport they're grateful and nostaligic. I say...you'll miss the current livery if/when AA replaces it.

I like the original livery the best. Neither of these fantasy liveries really click with me. Especially the original picture, and the third picture Diamond posted for us. The first of the three he posted is probably the best of them if I had to choose. Always fun to dream though.

Yeah definelty the middle livery one of those three that have been shown. AA needs a new livery really bad in my opinion these metal colors just looks cheap in my opinion.

Here's an idea...
Keep the current cheatlines, and replace the "AA" with the new eagle logo the Mr. Abraham has designed. He has a knack for graphic design...and I think he should seriously peddle it to AA.
...course nothing will replace my country's "proud wing" from Canadi>n (albeit the poor bird was blind... LOL)

Greg,
I've noticed your "anti-wave" comments a few times. I have an idea. Please describe for me what you think the next generation of AA's colors should look like, and I will try to draw it to your specifications.
I'm bored and need a challenge! Just give me some guidelines: Stripes or no stripes? Eagle or no eagle? etc.
Looking forward to drawing again.
