Does anyone watch this show?

i dont know, it makes me not want to fly southwest airlines...its not that the people who work for the airline are rude, its the passengers, i rarely run into passengers like that on other airlines...maybe southwest gets them all.

Every airline has its weirdo's. I think WN gets more of them. But remember, of the thousands of PAX that could be on the show, they pick the ones that are weird or raise a stink or have problems. It's all in the editing.

I do from time to time. The Southwest employees that I have run into are most gratious, curtious, and friendly, but you're correct, the passengers seem to be much more trouble than on CO which is my staple for air travel. I am sure they all have their bad eggs but to have an entire show of them. I don't fly WN because they don't go where I want to go without making a few stops, some say 4 stops later you leave TX!  Smile

I like that show, I watch every time I see it on. I think there employees are nice. As you can se on the show, they do every thing they can to make the customer happy, but usually its the customer who is drunk, or just wants to make a scene.

Try to catch it every weekend, but A&E up here seems to shift its timeslot every week. Some weeks it's on in the morning, some weeks its on at 1PM, the next week it's on at 3PM. Definitely going to be purchasing the DVD set.

True.

Hmmh, as you said they are shown more because they were filmed, the behaving passengers which are 99% of every flight are not filmed.

Agree here, they do seem to have a higher spirit then other airlines but I have had just as many amazing and matcheable flights on AA and NWA, it really all depends on how YOU make the flight as well.

I know your joking but come on 4 stops later your leaving Texas? Silly HOU is a huge, major airport for WN I'd like to see you try and find a flight from HOU and 4 stops later your still in Texas Wink

I need to get the DVD as well, the more I watch it, the more I want to fly WN as much as I can.

Basically as one can conlude, yes WN has its fair share of bad passengers, but so does every other airline, it isnt shown unless your at the airport.

i have actually never seen pax like that on WN, or any other airline for that matter. Its just that the viewing public dont want to see people going to the airport and flying without any problems. People want to see anger, frustration, and drama, they put on tv what people want to see.

Yep joking for sure...however I know a few years back you could certainly do a 3 stop in TX from HOU when going westbound. HOU-SAT or AUS, then continue to ELP for maybe a plane change and then finally cross the state line.

Normal passengers would make pretty boring TV, you need the freaks or nobody would watch the show.

Its a fun show, but its taped delayed.

I've seen a few of these passengers.

Latest was a woman who ran up to the gate late in SEA.
Started the crying "the plane is right there".
Agents very calm.
More crying, please please I was xyz, please.
Plane pushed.

Crying turns to cussing, out came the cell phone, the dramatic toss of the long hair to get an open ear, more cussing at the agents, the pace around with the clicking of the heels (nice boots lady). Jibber jabber on the phone. Snap of the cell phone, cussing. Another agent came over to the desk, more talk of another flight. The storm off and return, slamming the counter.

Agents calm.

Arrival of the Police Officers.
The escort away.

Agents calm.

The show is great, but you can't beat a live performance!

I actually love the show it just shows what employees actually can go through besides helping you board the plane. They did lots of things that i didnt think they were allowed to do.

Our airline features Easyjet, it used to feature Britannia. We also have Airport, a documentary based around LHR

If you wanted to, you could still take that kind of routing. Since WN's intra-Texas schedule is so good, you could probably park yourself on the same 735 and fly all day never leaving the state. You would probably visit every Texas station and never stay on the ground for more than 25 minutes at a time.  Silly

They used to have them both on Discovery Wings over here. I loved Airport. I also particularly liked the U2 version of Airline!. They didn't seem to go for the over-the-top drunks and freaks like the WN version does.

I stopped watching the American version because it turned out to be waaaaaay too predictable. 5 minutes in.. first drunk. 10 minutes in.. first violent guy.. 15 minutes in.. commercial.. 3 minutes after that.. second drunk.. 8 minutes after that.. the guy (Michael?) from LAX goes to Puka-bead-fest '08 in Omaha.. 8 minutes after that.. first topless woman who has been tastefully digitized to something acceptable for TV.

I used to love that show airport.....
does anyone know if it is still shown over here in the states? Discovery Wings is now the military channel or something like that.

I've gone looking for it. Wings seems to be totally gone. Discovery doesn't seem to be showing either show anymore. A true shame  Sad

Behaviour always seems to do with how much the passenger has paid. I guess that is why they use WN/U2 as examples. I've had my own difficult/annoyed/lazy/stupid/drunk passengers at work, but never on the scale that they have on TV. I think people play up deliberately to get on the TV show...
