I was just listing the places I have been to for fun. Then it came up on my list that I have been to places like Salt Lake City or Taipe (for connections) so many times without actually going outside the airport. So i was wondering if anyone has same experience like this that you cannot really say that "you've been there".
I guess walking around nice 9or some not so nice) airports for several hours doesn't really count although couple hours at DXB or SIN or new BKK would be nice.

Yes, and I would assume many frequent flyer's have a list. My list has gotten smaller the more I fly. There is also another subcategory after being at an airport without stepping foot outside, stopping at an airport without getting off the plane. I've been in airports multiple hours changing planes and 20-40 minutes with a passenger stop flying SW. Cities I have spent a lot of time at without going out of the airport are Salt Lake City and Atlanta. My whole impression of these cities is based on the bar/food service, and souvenirs sold at their airports (politicians take note, make sure the quality of your airport services helps to promote flyer's to want to spend more time in your city). Cities I have stopped at without leaving the aircraft, Kansas City, Oklahoma City, El Paso.
I am extraordinarily patient, provided I get my own way in the end.

Sometimes all you can do is look them in the eye and ask " how much did your mom drink when she was pregnant with you?"
