I think the title is pretty self explanatory, out of all the airlines that are no more, which one would you give a second chance at life?

If I could bring back one airline, it would be Eastern Airlines.

I was just going to post the same. Loved the look of their livery (and some of the best looking 757s).

Was Eastern the launch customer for the 757? I thought I read this somewhere, but I also read that BA was the launch customer.

Also, they were actually contemplating an Eastern rebirth, however, Pan Am was resurected instead. Which is for the better, because if you are going to resurect Eastern, it has to be done properly, not some half assed attempt like they have with Pan Am.

That bright shining B757 is an awesome picture, however I loved flying on "Air Grits"!  Smile

Piedmont is the airline I want back flying as its former self.

You can also add Song to my list, just because they had the coolest livery ever!

I would have to say the majority of the aviation community wants to see Pan Am fly again; I agree with your statement, I mean this is the 3rd attempt?

Sabena, i mean they had a lot of potential and SN is just too small for a country like Belgium.

I believe so. I think it is now operated by Boston-Maine airlines or something like that.

Why can't some new upstart use a classic name like Pan Am or Eastern? Sure they will start small in the beginning, but everyone expands. I would like to see an "Eastern Airlines" start from scratch.
I believe it is next to impossible to pull of a Pan Am restart, as nothing could possibly live up to the original. But say an Eastern restart that gets to around the size of AirTran, I'd say that would look like a success.

Same here, always loved the ease of connecting at BRU compared to CDG, not to mention the good and friendly service on board their planes.

Pan Am would be another choice, but for that to happen, that disgrace called "Boston-Maine Airways dba Pan Am Mk IV" would have to die.

I would bring back PSA. It was a great airline of the west. It was fun and provided economical frequent service. I experienced my first frequent flyer award with them-LAX to Los Cabos.

I think if US was attempting the same thing as they did with PI in 1988 they'd have their hands full of other issues and we'd still be riding around on PI59 from IAH-CLT and much more!
