I saw an article in a Luxemburgish newspaper about Luxair, that they probably will get 2 new 737-700!!!
So I guess they are looking for more destinations maybe Dubai??? Anybody else can confirm ore know more
about?

It's still considering options; the A319 is also a possibility.

Guess again. Expect new 737NGs during the 1st Quarter 2004.

A319 seems unlikely to me I think 99% that it will be 737NGs!

I'm not in the guessing game. I'm just reporting what Luxair's finance chief told me last week. If it's changed since then, fair enough. Call him a liar, not me.

Luxair will order and/or lease 737NGs with an announcement sometime this week (should have actually been Fri., don't know why it was postponed).

Comparing the A319 to the 737-700 the Boeing has more range ( no intention to start a A v B war) , correct me if I'm wrong. Believing the newspaper, Luxair is maybe considering to expand their destination net and then the 737-700 order would make sense. What do you think?

Range at 64 tonne (141,095lb) takeoff weight 3391km (1831nm), range at 75,500kg (166,450lb) takeoff weight 6845km (3697nm).

B73G:
737-700 - Range with 126 pax 2852km (1540nm) or 6037km (3260nm) for HGW version.

Thanks for your info Racko, waohhhh didn't knew that the A319 has 3697nm of maximum range!!! Wow!
Learn everyday something new Smile/happy/getting dizzy Hmmm, would be nice to see an A319 flying in the colour of Luxair!
