Did anyone else see this movie with the United signage in LAX. Also, when they are on the garage roof you see what I think is a UA 777 with the Airport Hilton in the back. Kinda cool to think I've stayed there.

I'm sure in Hollywood movies, signage like that isn't random.

Cool! Haven't seen the movie, but I'll look forward to seeing it. UA has been featured on "Friends" (when Ross goes/returns from Beijing) and then also "Sleepless in Seattle" among many other movies.

Can't forget Rush Hour 1 and 2. As a matter of fact, did you know that the world premiere for Rush Hour 2 was on a flight from San Fran to Hong Kong?

United was also in the movie Fathers day with robin williams and billy crystal. They showed old colors of a 737, (inflight) and I believe there was another part where they showed a new colors 757. movie was made in 1997.

Also, United was featured in the movie Big daddy as Jon Stewart left New York for Beijing. They showed a united gate in the background.

At the end of 'Good Morning Vietnam' , Robin Willians leaves on a UA (707 i think, forgot) in the old old color scheme.

I believe it's a DC-8. He arrives on a DC-8 in the beginning of the movie......

Now that you all have mentioned airlines depicted in movies, I have a bone to pick with "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York". Kevin boarded an AA 767 (based on exterior shots) at ORD, but in the interior shot, the door being shut is obviously a 747 door (being that the 777, which has a similar door, wasn't in service in 1992).

Has anyone started a separate thread on airlines shown in movies? Someone should...

United is featured very prominently in another Nick Cage movie "The Family Man" Although the shot is two people talking in JFK Terminal One and a UA 777 is outside. UA doesn't fly into terminal one at JFK.

In response to Goose above, you are correct, VS has been featured on friends, twice that I recall...

Once, when they all went to London for Ross' wedding. That makes perfect sense, and Sir Richard Branson as well as Fergie made cameos in that.

Another time, ironically enough, they were all flying for New York to Las Vegas, and they showed a Virgin plane. I thought that was pretty funny. But I am sure that very few people realized that was impossible.

QUESTION ABOUT AIRCRAFT IN HOLLYWOOD MOVIE

Just thought of this when I saw the topic... Well if any of you have seen "castaway" with Tom Hanks you might have noticed that before he leaves, he is standing on an airport surrounded with LOTS of FedEx planes, and it's not like a short clip or something, you can see the logos on the aircrafts for several minutes. I think the movie is sponsored by FedEx, this can not be a coincident ! What do you think ?

I saw catch me if you can last night and there were a couple of flaws in it.
when the plane landed in LGA it was a 767, but taxiing it was a 707.

My Best Friend's Wedding

Major UA scenes-- taxiing 757 on the bridge over the airport road; DC-10 at the gate on the C-concourse as Julia Roberts is walking into the terminal; lengthy terminal shots of the C-concourse.

How DID they get all those people (who I'm assuming were regular everyday passengers) to ignore Julia Roberts and all the camera stuff?

Jeff

Contrary to popular belief, FedEx did not pay the filmmakers anything for their presence in the movie. The director has made this clear in a number of interviews.
