Starting next week, Jat Airways will start following its newly published winter schedule. The changes include the suspension of some seasonal destinations, and marginal frequency adjustments to the rest. Here is how it looks:

I know i am missing probably another two cities, but they dont come to mind right now. Jat Airways will also conduct charters to two Croatian cities, Zadar and Split.

Other news:
Jat Airways has decided that it will launch a low cost regional carrier soon, known as Intair Link. The base of the airline will come together next week, while it will be in full operation by the introduction of the spring schedule on March 28th. Flights to Podgorica will cost 24 euros in one direction. Talk about bargain!

Jat Airways director, Predrag Vujovic, stated that the airline will acquire one ATR-72 in november, and a fifth in may next year. Furthermore, Jat will aquire two more Boeing 737-400s in january, concluding the service of the Boeing 727-200.

Very promising news! I hope it comes true.

CB777,
I don't know what aircraft they intend on using. Most charters are with the B737.

717fan,
As for the DC-9, i cannot say with certainty what is in plan. In about two weeks, most European countries will adopt the protocol for safety doors being installed in the cockpit. Installations are being done on the Boeing 737s, and the ATRs. No plan was made for the DC-9. Therefore one can conclude that these aircraft will not be around for much longer.

I would expect them to be withdrawn from almost all destinations. Furthermore these planes will be less flexible to operate, since they will be confined only to Southeast Europe, which is mainly served by the 733 and AT7 anyhow. I would expect the planes to make an exit as announced earlier this year, by the end of 2003. The planes should be leased and/or sold to carriers particularly from Africa. Besides another four aircraft joining the fleet is bound to compensate for the exit of the last two DC-9s.

I am hoping that one DC-9 will be painted in the old livery, and presented to the aviation museum, joining the Caravelle. It would be a great attraction for sure!
