Consistently, flights to CDG from Canada are more expensive than most Western European cities such as AMS, FRA, MUC, HAM, DUS,.....

I understand the supply and demand thing... But even from Montreal, it;s cheapr to fly to FRA than CDG.


Any explanations!

For some strange reasons, it was the same 20 years ago when I was in Travel School. That was the example the teacher were always taking when they taught us how to calculate "hips"

If that is the case, then it is curious. Not only is there Air Canada and Air France, but Transat flies to Paris on a seasonal basis. Maybe there is sufficient competition to keep prices at a level where good yields will be realized, as opposed to other routes where competition is driving down yields.

I really don't know, just speculating here.
