I Have Seen terminal D being built from top to bottom. But I must say I have not heard what airlines will be going into it when it opens next year. Can any one give Me any clues. I know AA will, but who else. Will Air France come back to DFW?

Welcome to airliners.net, in response to your question, DFW is undergoing major Terminal mix-ups. Continental and Northwest have recently moved oberations to Terminal E, AirTran has moved operations to B, and jetBlue is considering entering the DFW market soon. However the new International D Terminal will consist of American (International), Lufthansa, Korean Air, British Airways, and AeroMexico. Air France has considered coming back to DFW, however this is strickly rumor, and nothing has been heard from this rumor for quite some while.

What about any operators from Asia. I know in other post there have been talk of Cathay or Eva, maybe even China Airlines. Any confirmed to fly to DFW? Also Has there been any news on Qantas syd-dfw routes?

If the US-Mexico agreements are ever worked out, you might also see Mexicana at some point. Mexicana could even replace Aeromexico, if AM decides to drop service to DFW.

I read a rumor saying that JAL had signed a lease on the international lounge at DFW, is this true? If so, when will they return? My best guess would be after D is open.

Grupo Taca is still here, they will move to D too. There will be a few regional jet gates in D, but I would guess that AC Jazz remains in B. They don't need a customs facility at DFW since their passengers clear US customs in Toronto and besides that, UA does all their ground handling, so it wouldn't make much sense for them to move.

I only see air canada bringing crj's to terminal D. But that would be very strange. It would be nice if Air canada expanded there service to 2 times daily. Also they could expand their equipment that comes to DFW to a320s. Also what are airlines going to do about the soon to be empty gates at terminal A and B?

B is not an AA terminal, only Eagle flights leave from B, and I'd guess that will probably remain the same. I think that AA will keep a good amount of gates even after international goes to D. I'd guess that the gates they would eliminate would be the "portable" gates in Terminal C.

According to the DFW Airport newspaper, the DFW Airport authorities as well as some government types from Austin made a trade mission to India and they were able to make a presentation to the AI people. Supposedly the AI people were quite interested in DFW. We will see. As for AF and Eva you can count them out. AF will not be back because of the loss of DL feed and persons within Eva have told me that because of the codeshare with AA and low fares from DFW to Asia already offered the pax flights will not work. This is the reason only AA and KE fly pax flights to Asia from DFW while a slew Asian cargo carriers are there.

This could be a darkhorse, but what about SNBA?

-AA and SN just received anti-trust immunity
-SNBA is adding JFK
-SN operated BRU-DFW right until liquidation
-DFW and BRU are both the largest hubs for AA and SNBA respectively, therefore allowing lots of feed from both ends.

If there is BRU service added, I bet that AA flies it. AA loves to keep DFW to themselves, and SN has most of the A330s occupied with BRU-Africa.

JCS, can you please explain the term "portable' gates?

Well, at the end of Terminal C they built a piecemeal sort-of extension, they aren't really portable-gates, but its just like trailers pieced together.

I still think AF is a decent possiblity at some point, they still have a good feed at DFW. In fact, there are now more cities served from DFW by DL than there was before AF left. Not to mention that as the economy picks back up, Alcatel might put some pressure on AF to restart service to DFW.

It might not be EVA Air to DFW, but I think that a south-Asian carrier will start service to DFW. Currently, there are no carriers that serve Southeast Asia with any sort of reasonable connections. Whether it is BR or CX, I still think there is a good chance.

As for AI. We'll see. Its pretty interesting, especially with the fact that PIA has started service to IAH. I wonder what the routing would be? via Paris or Amsterdam? Or would they just add on an extension from ORD or JFK?

Why do you think they will move everybody there? Terminal B is already almost empty with British and Korean-if they leave for D, it will be a total ghost town on the north side.

I would hope that more different airlines would come to DFW.

Hey ConcordeBoy, before smacking DFW for air service, why don't you first try to get a European airline first. It kinda rings hollow when you don't even have LH or BA.

To add to what Jcs17 said, the "portable gates" are very noticeable from the outside. They can be seen from the NW/CO gates at Terminal E, and look like the classroom trailers that can be seen at some elementary schools. They're kind of an eyesore, and I don't think it would hurt anyone to see them go.

Wow JCS, not even 5 minutes..... giving "predictable" a whole new meaning  

There are strong rumors that MX will start MEx-DFW flights soon, now that it has entered into a codeshare agreement with AA. In addition, AM is the only Mexican carrier flying the route MEx-DFW at the moment so under the bilateral there is still room for one more Mexican carrier to apply for authority. I guess that if MX indeed starts operating the MEx-DFW route we will see it in the Terminal D International.

All I can say to Concorde-

Maybe if you lived here, we'd accept your crap. However, being from out of state and from a much smaller and weaker airport, what you said is uncalled for. Your post was pointless and did not help answer the original post.

What about Service From South America? Maybe Lan or Aerolinas Argentina? Also I agree with the atatement about a carrier from southeast Asia. Though I know they couldn't do a non-stop, they could connect from some where in europe or asia, maybe even in the US.
