Just found out that I will be flying into the new airport in Cayo Coco Cuba called Jardines Del Rey Intl as opposed to 'Cayo Coco Intl'.

Thing is I cant seem to find out any information about the place, only that it has a runway that's 9,500ft long.

Any info would be appreciated, maybe there's an airport website out there somewhere?

Signed
Justin

MYT332, which resort are you going to? Until 2 years ago when going to Cayo Coco or Cayo Guillermo, planes used to land in AVI (Ciego de Avila). The ride to the closest resort was almost 2 hours. Now, with this new Cayo Coco airport, the ride to any resort is between 20 min to 30 min.

There is only 1 Cayo Coco airport - Jardines Del Ray Int'l is Cayo Coco Int'l, and if you want to be exact the runway is 9842ft long!

Of course, there is only one Cayo Coco airport! How could there be more than one? Cayo Coco Int'l is a brand new airport. AVI was welcoming tourists to Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo before Cayo Coco started operation.

MYT332, actually you don't seem to know much about the history of AVI and CCC airports. CCC has existed for years but until a few years ago nothing but props could land there. AVI was the international airport until 2002. Now CCC is opened to widebodies....And AVI id dead!

It's so simple...

Two years ago, there WAS an airport in Cayo Coco. It was just too small to handle anything but props. They expanded it and built a new terminal and gave it a new name. Now, ON THAT SAME SPOT, is Jardines del Rey Airport, which serves Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo (code: CCC).

Before that, charter flights would have to land is Ciego de Avila (AVI), which is about an hour and a half (drive) south of Cayo Coco/Guillermo.
