I know there was a great modified picture of a 777 landing at MIA in Aeromexico colors, and it came from jetsite.com, but it seems you have to be a paying member now to look at it so I can't post it here. Is anyone a paying member of jetsite.com and find it (ifit is allowed to link it, of course!).

Well, yes, both A330's and A340's have been the subject of a lot of speculation lately. The same with the routes in which they would be used: from JFK to AB) (FRA / FRF / EDDF), Germany">FRA to PVG. I think MX will go for Airbus widebodies (the rumors of a second 763ER joining the fleet notwithstanding) and that an official statement -at least about their plans- will be issued before the end of the year.

By the way, the pic is of an A333 and if MX gets the twin-engine, then we will most likely see -200's. Anyway, let's wait and hope a decision is made soon.

MX Will not go for T7. As you know most part of MX fleet is Airbus. Perhaps we could see A330. I do not think we could have A340, but anyway it sound interesting:D.

That MX A332 would be a NICE looking airplane....even though i would love to see them go Boeing i have to admite id go out of my way to see that A332. As well as the AM 777.

Never saw it but a T7 on AM would be one of the nicest liveries around.

And although most of you think MX will go for A330/340 I still think that having the 57/67's in there might be a reason for MX), Mexico">MEX to get more B763's and not even a 777.

I keep my fingers crossed for Boeing planes at MX.

Well, there were rumors a few days ago that a second 763ER (not coming from SK) was joining the MX fleet. The rumors coincided with the announcement that MX would add one more flight to EZE in order to have 5 weekly flights. In the end, I do not recall whether it was just a rumor and the plane was in the hangar just for maintenance for the benefit of somebody else, or if the plane was indeed joining the fleet. In any case, unless something funny happens, I think MX will end up getting widebody Airbuses. A separate thread (I think it is the "Mexico and China" thread) has a picture of a 747 in MX livery. Just F.Y.I.

I'd prefer the T7. But, I am in college, not running Mejicana, so it doesn't matter what I think... until I buy a ticket.

Would the A340 not be more suitable given that quads perform better at hot and high airports?

I'm no engineer and my understanding of aeronautics is a hair above zero, but I would say that if MX is only thinking of widebody service to, say, JFK, LHR and MAD, then the A330 would be the way to go. If MX is considering, however, FRa and destinations in Asia, then the A340 would be more suitable (even an A345 might have to make a refueling stop on its way from MEx to an Asian city... I dunno if a 772LR could do, for example MEx-HKG non-stop).
