I was on BA269 LHR-LAX on 21st June and it was delayed by a few hours leaving LHR. The reason given was a late inbound 744 in the first place which was then struck by lightening on approach and so had to be replaced. Was just curious if anyone had any details of this (which 744 was originally to be used, where was it coming from, what damage was done, etc.)? Got to LAX about 9pm on a replacement plane no problems, but was just curious!

TIA,

Phil

i fly on BA269 (sometimes 283) between 1 and 4 times a year for over 10 years and I can't remember a recent time when I wasn't delayed out of LAX.

In August, I was delayed for 3 hours due to late arrival of the incoming aircraft (G-BYGG) and another hour because of heathrow congestion. I also arrived around 9 or 10 pm in LAX.

What does TIA mean?

I'd be extremely interested to know where the planes that operate the BA 283 and BA 269 service come from.

Airxliban,

You wanted to know where the flights BA269/283 come from on their inbounds...
These are often alternated as are a lot of flights... I did a small bit of research of this, based on 8-14 June...

8th June:
BA269 = Inbound BA286 San Francisco
BA283 = Inbound BA054 Johannesburg

9th June:
BA269 = Inbound BA286 San Francisco
BA283 = Inbound BA032 Hong Kong

10th June:
BA269 = Inbound BA054 Johannesburg
BA283 = Inbound BA092 Toronto

11th June:
BA269 = Inbound BA286 San Francisco
BA283 = Inbound BA054 Johannesburg

12th June:
BA269 = Inbound BA282 Los Angeles
BA283 = Inbound (10th June) BA048 from Seattle

13th June:
BA269 = Inbound BA282 Los Angeles
BA283 = Inbound BA058 Cape Town

14th June:
BA269 = Inbound BA284 San Francisco
BA283 = Inbound BA032 Hong Kong

Yes Airxliban, the good old Blueyonder page!!

It's very handy that site for me, because when I am at LHR taking pics as I quite regularly am, If I can't get the planes registration from the picture itself i can get it off that site, by checking out landing times and flight numbers etc etc...

Does anybody know if there are any other sites for other International Airports besides LHR and LGW that have this kind of information??

What is this "blueyonder" page you speak of...does it exist for other airports or airlines?
