I will fly SEA-PHX on HP in August so I wanted to check my flight and on the HP-homepage I found that there are two flights with the flight number 893.
Both leave SEA at 0815. The first one is direct with one stop and the other one goes via LAS with LAS-PHX being HP418. This is rather strange since I didn't check for a general schedule but a specific date.
The problem is that I am not 100% sure on which flight I will be on since my ticket only said that I will leave SEA at 0815 on HP893.
Does anybody from "the other side of the pond" know how I've gotta understand this?

Actually, you'll be on "both" flights, because both are actually one and the same. HP893 flies from SEA to LAS and, after a short stop there, continues on to PHX. If you wanted to, you could continue from LAS to PHX on HP418, as well as on HP46...

But if it says HP893 from Seattle to Phoenix on your ticket, you'll be on that flight all the way, including the stop in Las Vegas.

I think Leskova has it. When in doubt, though, give a simple call to the airline just to make sure. The last thing you want is to think you know something and find out you don't.

Sometimes extra added flights appear with the same flight number. If this is the case, your bording pass will show on which plane you'll end up.

Well now I got it. Actually I will fly from SEA to SNA via PHX and to be sure now that I will also touch the ground in LAS makes it even better.
So the HP418 option is just for those who want to spend more time on the ground at Las Vegas...
I guess it will be like the once-a-week flight operated by dba from TXL to DUS via CGN... 20 minutes on the ground and those that wanna go to CGN just get off the plane while the others stay on board. In this case the LAS-people will do this... Makes flying a little like taking the bus...

All airlines do this, especially Southwest Airlines.

For example Southwest Flight 2206 flies LAS-PHX-STL-MDW-DTW.

and many of the legacy airlines they have two seperate flights under the same number like 590 could fly SEA-DFW-MCO and AA 738 could fly JFK-ORD-LAX. So ...

for your America West one, just stay on board when it stops in LAS.
