Hey all...I was just thinking about how not to long ago Air Wisconsin (Operating as United Express) Flew BAe146s into EUG, and then thought, when the Republic EMB 170s come on line, if any will be based out of DEN...I highly doubt it as It seems that denver's current 70 seat op is ran out by YV, and OO, soon to be all OO... Any one want to elaborate some more?? What about 146s? Aren't there still some in DEN???? We need them back in EUG! Im getting sick of all the CLs!

I think Chicago-Indianapolis, Indianapolis-Washington and Washington-Houston were among the first routes to receive the ERJ-170 but for some reason, they have recently disappeared from skeds and replaced primarily with ERJ-145s.

Noticed the same thing, but was assured by someone in the know that the res systems would change back to the 170 this week, specifically on the IAD-IAH run of which my camera will be waiting for!

I was curious about this also. I looked today, and I saw 2 ERJ-170s between ORD and IND beginning on October 31, and IAD to IND, also beginning October 31. I think there were 3 flights daily, mixed in with Chautauqua's ERJ-145s. I tried to book them and was able to. The seat maps were even available. We had the 170s in the system a while ago on this same route, but they were taken out a few days later. Now they are back again, flight numbers and all! I'm not sure if they have got their certification yet, we will have to see if they stay in the system this time...

Neither - I'm out at the training facility. I try to get back to good old Terminal 2 when I can, though!

so another question here guys...with the RP 170 arrivals to the United Express system, what will the effects on the system be as far as aircraft. UX has been changing so much lately its often hard to keep up!! Is ZW going to begin more DEN flying once again? Or are they gonna keep flying primarily IAD and ORD?

Don't expect to see any 170's in EUG. Air Wisconsin doesn't own any, do they? I highly doubt you'll see an EMB 170 until Air Wisconsin buys some or leases some.

As has been discussed before, the 146 is currently the largest aircraft that is able to fly into ASE. As long as this remains to be true, ZW should be around in DEN for a while.
Currently, ZW has no plans to acquire any new types of aircraft. I would love to see us fly the 170, or even a CR7, but this is not happening at this point. It would have been interesting to see if ZW would have purchased any Avro RJs if they had continued production. I heard somewhere that this would have been a strong possibility.
The ZW fleet is currently 70 CRJ-200s and 17 Bae-146s.
On a side note, 15 of our 146s are scheduled for heavy checks in the upcoming months, so we might yet see the new colors on a 146...

Sorry folks I confused you with that statement "Soon to be all OO" I was refering to Denver 70 seat operations. (Should I say 66 seat operations? As I know OO is going to be doing that with thier 700s soon? lol)

ZW can be flying in and out of DEN all they want, but there will be a single ground handler eventually (no date yet...) that will handle all of the express birds that come in and out of DEN.

So will RDU-DEN be upgraded from Mesa CR7 to Rep EMB170? I hope so.. would love to see it at RDU... andit may make the 4 hours more bearable...

To sort a few things out...

Republic can not get it's certificate soon enough because the first time they applied for the cert it was not apporved because the FAA did not approve of their training programs. United to Chautauqua that if the -170s are not on line by a certain date in OCT (don't recall the exact date) they can basically forget the the Republic contract as well as the -170s. So Chautauqua will place them on their certificate and fly them using IND crews initially with hopes of having Republic up and running by 1st Q 2005. There are no plans to fly out of DEN. United's main focus in DEN in Skywest. This may cause problems with their AA and DL contracts because of pilot scope clauses but that's a topic for another discussion.

Air Wisconsin continues to fly out of DEN to ASE, ICT, DSM, COS, MKE, MSN in October with the BAe 146 and still has a crew base in Denver although a smaller one than it was 1 year ago. There are also Some CRJ-200 flights to MSN, COS, LNK, MCI, FSD in October. There has not been a 146 departure for Eugene for atleast a year. Currently AWAC ground handles all ZW and all YV Jet flights.

Now you mention it, 146crew, when I attempted to book the flight yesterday, it did say "Operated by United Express/Chautauqua." I didn't think much of it at the time, since they are both under the same umbrella, but this would support what you were saying about Chautauqua placing the 170s on their certificate.
I am glad United is pushing for the 170s to get on line, I am looking forward to seeing them in ORD!

I am looking forward to the 170 as well! Chautauqua is a good airline and I know they will do a nice job. I just hope if United asks us to replace the 146 or get 70 seaters we will get the 170. The 170 seems so much more comfortable than the CRJ.

I was hoping when we were planning to order our 70-seat aircraft that we would have chosen the EMB-170 as well... the CR7 is a nice aircraft but that E70 looks even nicer

I don't think its fesiable for them to opertate them from ORD to EUG, however, At one time I know UA was considering it, EUG also had a great interest in increasing Eastern bound flights. So maybe, that could be possible...but my own knowledge of the topic tells me "No Way Jose"
