Hey, just found this pic on a.net, here's the first E170 to be operated for UAX by Republic Airways!

Awesome! That is one sweet looking aircraft! Where will it mainly be flying out of? That would be even cooler if it were out of Denver mainly, but I doubt it.

Blackhawk144, they will be based out of ORD and IAD. I believe the first route will be ORD-IND from what I've heard here.

FrontierCPT: I believe they start service next month, not sure when. ORD-IND is the only route I know of right now, perhaps you'll see one in STL at some point.

The new United livery looks good on this plane, the 777-200, the the CRJ's. One the other planes it don't look that good.
(I haven't really seen alot of the new livery on the 757 yet)

Why is it called the ERJ170 in all of the pictures. I have not once seen this line of planes referred to as an Embraer Regional Jet. Perhaps the EMB170??
OT, I think the new United colors look beautiful on this plane. I hope it is as nice to fly as it looks.

They will start 1 flight on Oct 17/2004 from IND-ORD as Fl 7715 and ORD-IND 7714, also 2 flights IAH-IAD 7700 and 7704 and IAD-IAH 7703 and 7705. In addition this is a new non stop service with United .....
Those planes look really nice....

The first US destination to see it will prob be FLL since it prob has to go there on its stopover to where ever else its going. I could be wrong. But I believe all Us Airlines fly the EMB's through FLL.

You are correct. The aircraft is referred to as the Embraer 170, or EMB-170....NOT the ERJ-170. Embraer made it very clear when they developed this line of aircraft it was not a regional jet, but designed as a mid market jet. There are serious enough about it that we had to redo the logo from ERJ-170 to Embraer 170 on the large display model in our corporate lobby.

Grrrrrreat looking plane!!! I'm sooo glad to see UA change from that H I D E O U S grey scheme over to the bright white. I half expected to find that it was one of those imaginary pictures when I clicked on the link..
For clarification, didn't NW take over Republic and buy out use of the Republic name??? How can another venture now be using the name now? Did they have to pay a rights fee to NW to use the name??

Republic IS Chautauqua..! From what I know, Republic is the parent company to CHQ and will hold the operating certificate to the -170's

To be a bit more correct Republic HOLDINGS is the parent company of Chautauqua Airlines. It will also be the PARENT company of Republic AIRLINES. There are contractual reasons that Republic airlines needs to be set to operate the 170's. As I understand it Chautauqua will need to operate them briefly till the end of the year because Republic could not be set up in time.

I knew the first time I saw an UAL Express RJ-700 in that scheme it was special, now that E170, that is what I would call " SWEET" I hope this baby comes to SYR, NY.
I am sure there are some excited pilots at Republic right about now!

The brightness of the new scheme overwhelms the older / duller gray. Although, that was better than the pale white they had previous, gheeez, what were they thinking LOL!

UA mainline did at one time operate between IAD and IAH. It was a mix of 737's, everything from the 200 to 300 to 500.

For anyone living in Indianapolis:
The ERJ-170 (yes, CHQ calls it ERJ not EMB) is at the CHQ Maintenance Hangar, over by the US Airways gates.
