I've read in previous threads that the T7 operates with a 3-3-3 configuration but I was looking at the cabin of the NH 777-300ER the other day. I think the configuration on that was 3-4-3 instead, the same as a 747. Do certain careers operate with a different configuration? I know that they fly a 500+ people configuration on Japanese routes which is reasonable with the 747, etc. but I am always suprised at the fact that a twin can fly THIS many people.

Can anyone confirm me on the 3-4-3 configuration?

I dont see whats wrong with operating th 777 using a 3-4-3 config.
All the rich moaners will disagree with me I suspect though  

EK is the airline famous for 3-4-3 config across a 777.

The standard is 9 across (3-3-3 or 2-5-2) but the 777's fuselage is only 1 inch shorter than that of the 747, so its really not that big of a deal, esp. if you get more pitch.

The 777 can go either way... it's most typical to see 3x3x3/2x5x2, but 3x4x3 isn't uncommon at all.

The Japanese use it, Emirates, Thai, et al. Even Bri'ish Airways used it on some 777s at one point.

I think BA used the 3-4-3 on their 777s that done the leisure routes, in co-operation with JMC Holidays?

The 777 and the 747 can both take a maximum of 10 abreast.

NG/OS operates the 772 in eco as follows:
row 11-31 as 3-3-3
row 32-40 as 3-4-3
row 41-44 as 2-4-2
row 45-47 only the 4 middle seats

I never understood why they have from row 32 onwards a 3-4-3 seating since the cabin has the same width and from row 11 backwards it is economy anyway.....
