i have been on a lot of AA 757s lately and i just hate the first class seats on those planes. they are old brown leather seats with no head support or the cushy cloth seats on the old TWA 757s.

does AA have any plans to fit in the newer first class seats on the 757s?

I agree, once, I was flying from SXM-ORD via San Juan, and the seat was broken, as it couldn't sit up straight, it could only recline, so the FA's said I would need a new seat. however, the only seats left were in coach, and this was not appreciated as the tickets were very pricy. They definitely need to updated their product to the likes of other domestic First seats, like UA, which I enjoy a lot.

I've never seen a brown first class seat on AA. I know we are in the process of changing all of the upholstry on the 75's to be consistent with the triangle pattern in the rest of the fleet.

yes i've had the brown seats twice now. they are more a tan than anything...and it had a bump-out as the "head rest" which is more a nuisance than anything.

I actually find the ex-TWA first class seats the best in the AA single-aisle fleet. Maybe not the most attractive, but definitely more comfortable than the neck breakers on the S80/737 fleet. The brown leather seats on the 757's are old & reamed, but still more comfortable as well.

I definitely prefer the seats, First and Coach, on AA's MD-80s and 737s to the old seats on the 757s.

The Coach seats on the 757s don't have the adjustable headrests, and the seats in First, besides lacking the adjustable headrests, aren't very cushy.

I can understand why AA doesn't spend the money to replace the Coach seats on the 757s, although I don't understand why it didn't replace the seats when the MD-80s and 767s received new seats.

On the other hand, I would think that AA could justify replacing the seats in First. Those seats are used by road warriors or people paying full fares that get upgrades.

AA has no plans to replace the leather seats in first class in its 757's. They dont have the money to do so, right now an investment in new J seats on its 767 has a much higher priority as they will yield more higher fare passengers.

TWA was always a better airline, I will avenge Ozark and TWA someday
