| Topic: UA Channel 9 ATC: No More On 737s? Username: ATLhomeCMH Posted 2005-05-08 04:31:20 and read 2033 times. I was on United.com refreshing my memory about their in-flight audio programming, and I noticed that they no longer carry Channel 9's famous "From The Flight Deck" ATC streams on 737s. They're only on available on 777s, A319s, A320s, and 747s. Apparently, they have Starbucks "Hear Music" on Ch. 9 on 737s now. | |

I hope N1120a is correct...and now that I think about it, I remember asking an f/a on my last UA flight if atc would be offered, and she did say that it was up to the captain.

All of the mainline flights have Channel 9 installend and it is just up to pilots discretion. The reason you see other programming there is that there is backup from the audio system if Ch 9 is deactivated, but it most likely will be functioning as normal. Somewhere between 60 and 90% of flights have it working presuming you have a functional headset and audio in the armrest.
