Will China Airlines ever start flights to London, either Gatwick or Heathrow?

Their current European destinations are Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Rome and Vienna, aswell as Milan, Luxembourg, Prague and Manchester served by China Airlines Cargo!

Any idea if China Airlines is intrested in TPE-LHR flights, maybe with 744's or 343's?

Would the flight have to be flown via another Asian/Middle Eastern city, or can they fly direct?

I think that CI cannot fly into LON due to government regulations. Also I know that many people who want to fly CI to/from the UK go via AMS.

BR fly to LHR, CI flies cargo to MAN, whats the UK-Taiwan air services agreement say about number of carriers/flights etc?? There probably aren't any slots at LHR for CI anyway.

i dont know the exact specifics but it is something like that hence why the BR flight flys via BKK so it technically originates in Thailand so can fly to the UK

While there may be no ASA in the usual sense there is obviously at least some sort of agreement, perhaps privately between airlines or NGOs. When HK was still British, there was an agreement between Taiwan and HK and there was no problems with direct flights between the two. I suspect BR's TPE-BKK-LHR flight has more to do with no overflying rights from China (till this year) than anything the British said.Plus some great traffic to and from BKK.
