Good to see First Choice in top spot for UK Charter Airline Punctuality (for the first time) in summer 2005. Unfortunate however to see the overall delays for most other carriers increasing again.

Nice work by MyTravel however, having shaken off their "elderly" aircraft.

Would be interesting to see who grabbed the 8th and 9th spots! I guess Air Scandic this summer before their collapse would be down that list!

Travel City Direct/Air Atlanta Europe anyone? Number 155?

What a great result. It's great to see First Choice going from strength to strength!

It's interesting to see that only FCA and surprisingly MYT made an improvement from 2004 too.

Also note the relative poor performance of Excel, way down the list. This is in stark contrast to a few years ago when Excel strived for on-time departures and had one of the best reputations in the charter market.

Seems the old Air Atlanta 762, 734s and 757s may be to blame. When the fleet was all 738 there were few delays.

To be fair, some of Excel's delays have been caused by problems outwith their hands, such as bird strikes on an NCL bound 734 out of ALC which I believe required an engine change, plus several other tech problems within their fleet.

Not a surprise to see them bottom of the league at NCL after a dreadful start, which actually became quite good at the end of the season.

Well done First Choice! Seems to be that Thomson, Thomas Cook and First Choice always fighting for the top spot. However MyTravel's improvement is also very noteworthy. Monarch never quite seem to make it, although they always seem to put far more effort into the schedueld operation, where the figures aren't bad.

Apparently the new Excel (after the merger with Air Atlanta Europe) are putting a lot of effort into improving standards, interesting to see how they perform next summer, as one company.

We will have to wait for the Air Transport Users Council (AUC) report into charter airline punctuality for summer 2005. This does all charter airlines operating from/to the UK, although won't be published until around March sometime.

But the MyTravel NCL performance with 91% OTP and 97% operating within an hour is arguably better, according to Flightontime.info this was "the highest OTP recorded at any UK reporting airport for any of the analysed airlines" (see the MyTravel page). A handful of longer MYT delays at NCL pushed the average delay slighly higher than TOM, but it doesn't tell the whole story.

Do you know when AAE and Excel become one? Is it March / April this year?

Flightontime.info data is available up to October 2005 for all these smaller airlines, you just have to request a Bespoke Report. If you really want to know, just ask them!

Not sure, they seem to be gradually moving aircraft over to the G- register, I think all of the 767s are and most of the 757s. Not sure whether the 747s are or not, would assume some will for the Travel City operation.

Again, not sure of a final date, would imagine March/April ready for the start of the Summer season May 1st.

Thanks, I didnt know they did that as well. Very useful website that is, clean, easy to use. Far better than trawling through the CAA website!
