What this is boiling down to is the Judge does not want to make the ruling. He is hoping they can get and agreement. If he puts this ruleing off again tomorrow night, then he will never make the ruling. Is up to NWA and if they can they will break the union and impose new work rules and lower wages. And then we will have a strike.

I noticed that Allan Gropper is the SAME judge hearing the Tower Automotive case and he will rule March 13 on the contracts with the UAW in that matter.

At least the good thing is the airlines says the wont impose a contract... If the sides are close, its looking good again for NW.

Although the two sides are close to reaching and agreement I dont think that NW will be satified with the outcome either way. If they dont get the cutbacks their dead if they impose the contracts their dead. It seems NW is going to lose no matter the outcome of the ruling or the negotiations. BEST of luck to all those involved in one way or another.

So far they will get cutback, both sides know what they can and can not afford, of course management wants a lot more then what they can afford. At the same time the pilots knowing what the airline can afford is not going to try and get a contract that wouldnt allow them to come out of it.

I understand they want good wages, but if the airline folds, they will have no wages, then they'll really be upset.

Well NWA could start by cutting managements pay. They have yet to do that. They want to cut everyone elses pay, but they will not even think about cutting managements pay.......CO did that to help out with their employees and airline...Also, the employees don't trust anyone in management. Sounds like another UA.

Every manager at Northwest already has had his pay cut by 20% and his pension frozen. I suggest you do a little research before writing such false statements.

I think, and believe The old man is in reference to NW....and the newborn baby....a new LCC.....just from what I took of the post.

As a lawyer, I don't like judges that are afraid to cut off negotiations and rule or set a trial date.

It's to the benefit of both parties to continue talking, but the judge needs to say that at 6pm, he will rule. No ifs, ands or buts.

Granted, the judge may be signing NW's obituary, regardless whether he voids the contract or not, but that's why he's a judge.

I totally agree, WTF good is a deadline if it's already been pulled back 2 or 3 times already?

This judge doesn't appear to have the intestinal fortitude to do his job - it's NW who had gotten themselves to this point and not the courts, all that the courts need do now is what the law dictates.
