Greetings,

When UA opened its international arrivals facility at LAX, were the old tunnels between satellites 6 and 7 and between satellites 6 and 7 and the street converted to sterile corridors for arriving passengers? Is passport control closer to 6 or 7? If it's closer to 7, do passengers arriving at gates in 6 have to walk all the way through the tunnel to 7 before walking north toward passport control?

Thanks for clarifying this answer for my interest in airport design!

This has been discussed before. Passport control and Customs are in Terminal 6. Most international arrivals use Terminal 6 although they will use Terminal 7 if necessary and send people on the long walk through the tunnel. The mostly used existing space in the pre-1984 passenger walkways.
