When is Tempelhof (THF) closing, or has it already?

I did a search in the forum before btu there seems to be no mention of tempelhof anywhere!

Jonathan

also, where can you fly to templehof from, I can't seem to find any international airports near me that you can fly from, and no connections are listed either!

Tempelhof is still in use.
There are several airlines offering daily service to this airport mostly used for business traffic.
Airlines operating into THF are SN Brussels, DBA, DauAir, InterSky, Cirrus Airlines and I believe Lufthansa has some flights to THF as well. But not sure though.

Greetings,
Yvo

LH doesn't fly its own services into Tempelhof, they are flown by Cirrus. Lufthansa does have a ticket office there.

Try DI ex CGN. They offer reasonably priced tickets to THF.

THF will remain open at least until the opening of BBI. Considering the incompetence of Berlin's city administration, this will take at least another 5 to 10 years.

Finally, a benefit of incompetant city administrations.  Smile I hope they keep it open thereafter, its really great to have it there. Kind of reminds me of Reagan in DC.

The "official" closing date is now April 1st, 2007 (that is no joke, unfortunately).

There is still a case pending in the court, and chances are not so bad that THF might stay open longer. I certainly hope so...

Tempelhof is only similar to National in that it is central and has shortish runways. While the terminal building is massive, only a small part is actually used and there are no jetways. It is actually much more similar to BUR.

So what ? In THF, you have some chances to board under the massive roof which is a truely unique experience.

And anyway, if it doesn´t snow or rain, I prefer stair boardings as you get to see more of the apron.
