I was just looking at the fall schedule (Sept 13) for DL out of GEG and saw that it was an MD-90 for the 640am departure to SLC. Anyone know if this is final? If it is, I think I can die happy, I have never been able to see an MD-90 up close before and have been wanting to see one in GEG for a long time.

It's likely. Most of DL's MD-90s operate out of SLC, and they're definetly the right size for SLC-GEG runs.

I flew SEA-SLC on an MD-90 about a year ago...not a bad ride.

I've had four now and two last Christmas time, SLC-PHX and PHX-CVG. If you are an 90 fan like I am, have fun!  veryhappy  They probably won't be around forever, sadly, so I am glad you will get the opportunity on the great Underdog of the Mad Dogs.

It was a surprise to see it, since the retirement of the 727s DL mainline here has been 733s and 738s, and since the 733s are gone, it has been just the 738s. I've been hoping for an MD-90 for a long time, so it is very good news to me. Also looks like AS will be sending the 739s back to GEG for some of the fall schedule too replace some 734s so another bonus, since I'll be seeing more of those anyway  Smile

This should eliminate the need for CRJ service for at least one flight per day between DLC & GEG! The MD-90 is a frequent sight at SLC and likely will continue to be used here as long as they remain in the DL fleet. They are a nice break from all the CRJ traffic you see buzzing around. Hopefully this will keep people flying on DL and not defecting to WN that flys a 733 on the SLC-GEG run. But then the Cattle-herd boarding on WN keeps people in the DL camp!

Well this MD-90 flight is replacing the 640am 738 flight, which on June 4th replaced the 640am CR7 flight. There are still 5 RJ flights to SLC daily, 3 on CR2s and 2 on CR7s.
