Hey guys. I was just going through some old photos and ran across Kiwi back from the mid 90s. Anyone by chance have a list of routes they once served? Specifically out of MCO if possible. Thanks

KP went out of business for good in late 1998. Their destinations were ATL, BDA, BOS, MDW, FLL, LAS, EWR, IAG, MCO, TPA, and PBI. They also codeshared with Air South (WV) from ATL to CAE, JAX, MIA, ORF, and RDU. Their employees were ex-Pan Am and Eastern people who used the Kiwi name to represent their plight. I liked the airline. The phone number used to be 1-800-JET-KIWI. I believe it's disconnected now.

I worked for Kiwi for almost 5 years.
the airline shut down in March 1999.
we flew MDW-MCO, EWR-MCO, ATL-MCO,
MCO-SJU AND MCO-MIA-SJU towards the end.
the company was under capitalized and had a
weak management that tried to keep it afloat.

I believe Kiwi (KP) used NW gates 33 and 35 at MCO.

could have sworn kiwi flew out of ORD back in the early early 90s....could be wrong but i swear i have seen them on the L concourse!!!!!

KP had no scheduled service to ORD, only MDW. I flew with them between MDW (I think they had gates B4 and B6) and EWR (gates 37-39) about 1/2 dozen times. All except that last flight were enjoyable -- lots of legroom, good food, very decent fares. However, on my last trip with them you could see the effects of deferred maintenance with some seat cushions ripped, one or two overhead bin doors taped shut, etc. It was bad. Within a few months they were gone.

I remember seeing them in ATL quite a bit while on training flights back and forth to CAE with my first airline, Air South. They were always either parked at D or E Concourse. I always got excited to see them, but it was my first airline job, so everything airline related excited me then.

At one point, I arrived way too early for a flight, so I say in the terminal right between the Air South and Kiwi ticket counters, facing Kiwi for about 3 hrs. The whole time, the one lone agent sitting there spoke to a total of 3 people. The rest of the time, he just looked about as bored as could be.

Even though I did not think it was a good idea to start an airline after a flightless bird, I did find Kiwi a beautiful airline, operating workhorse 727's and with a beautiful teal and purple paint scheme. But they always seemed understaffed and their route network just wasn't strong enough to support any demand. But I never heard anything bad about them, so that gives them some credit for how hard they tried. Sometimes, the airlines with the best service are also the ones to get their wings clipped.
