I'm trying to find out the best way to fly Hanoi-Phnom Penh. I think Vietnam Airlines service this route, but the Vietnam Airlines website is redirecting to a holding page.

Does anyone have any pointers/recommendations about carriers on this route and whether booking on the web is possible?

You're right - Vietnam Airlines is hoping to be back online by November 2006.

As another option, try Siam Reap Airways ex Saigon (oh, ok Ho Chi Minh City)

You might be best to go to a reputable local travel agent instead.

Yep, VN is the only real choice. Do yourself a favor and book at an official VN office when you're in Vietnam. Could easily save you half of the price ... at least my experience. SGN-REP (return) was 350$ on Expedia in February, finally I paid 180$ at VNs main office in central Saigon.

The Vietnam direct flight runs about $208USD one-way ($416 return), and most others seem to be around $280USD one-way.

As PADSpot said, check at a local VN CTO or local travel agency. Agencies in SE Asia always seem to have unpublished fares that can be considerably cheaper.
