I was just looking up so photos of airliners, and I saw a photo of a Qantas 747 300 at MAO, and a few photos of Qantas 747 300's in GIG. So did Qantas start regular service to Brazil?

Qantas has never had regular servuce to Brazil. In the late 1990's they did fly to Buenos Aires twice a week until Lan Chile took over the SCL-AKL-SYD route with A340's.

It was probably a charter flight or something. Qantas does quite a few of these.

one of QF's 743 (VH-EBT IIRC?) did a recent captian's choice tour to South America which QF charter their aircraft to from time to time.

If i remember correctly, it was QF119 from eze-akl-syd! Used to be a regular service 3 or 4 times per week when i worked at SYD! The QF flight to MAD, as previously stated, must have been a charter!

Right, a charter MAO-GIG-IGU-LIM-SYD from Capitain's Choice Tours.

Last year was a 744, this year, a 743.

Shame, would be great to see QF start a scheduled service to Brazil. Would imagine it would be quite popular too.

For sure we could see a service Brazil-Australia, but i have doubts about the size of business market between both countries. May be a strong market for students, tourists and people connecting to southeast Asia (in this case, could become a huge business market)
